Launchpad launches loops starting at B4 when playing notes in note mode - clues?
LOVE Loopy. I am using a launchpad pro to play a midi synth in Loopy. Works great except when I get to the upper notes and it starts launching clips. Using midi sniffer I see it starting at B4, C5, C#5 etc.
Maybe I am not looking in the right place but I didn't see any default mappings and I didn't make any.
Any clues how to stop this or at least explain it?

Which Launchpad model? A few people have run into this but we haven’t been able to reproduce it.
I would be curious as to whether it happens in the 2.0 beta.
In the App Store version. You can work around it by setting the notes mode channel to a channel other than 1
I am actually in the 2.0 Beta and its the Launchpad Pro MK3. If I use Midi Sniffer on the iPad I can see the midi notes in question. I think it may be related to the advertised "built in support" for Launchpad? In session view on the LP, the keys light up to match the loops in Loopy. If I sequentially press clip buttons on the LP, Midi Sniffer shows that note values are sent starting at B4.
So it appears that Loopy is expecting Midi notes from B4 to trigger clips when it detects a LP is connected?
While we are on this topic, a widget that displayed received Midi notes would be a great feature given that Loopy is heading further down the midi path. Between mappings, midi loops, and midi control of instruments, it gets hard to diagnose issues if you can't see what your controller is sending Loopy.
Those notes coming from the DAW port should trigger bindings but not from the midi port. Can you check to see if when you press those pads if the notes come out of only the midi out port or if they come out of the daw port, too?
@neokruncher : can you post a screenshot showing the control settings panel where the midi devices are listed?
Turn off Launchpad for the midi port. Only the DAW port should be set as a Launchpad.
See if that solves it.
Did loopy set the Launchpad midi port to Launchpad or did you do that manually?
I will try that. Loopy did. I didn't set anything - just plugged it in and added midi device. I will test in a new blank project.
I can't seem to find a way to turn off. Please elaborate.
I started a blank project with LP plugged in and those two Midi device selections appeared before I did anything.
I also opened one of the sample projects that comes with Loopy and it was the same.
Seems like Loopy detects the LP and sets the midi devices as per the screen shot above.
In Control Settings, tap on the Launchpad MIDI (not DAW) device. There is a device type popup that should be set to Generic Device. Loopy Pro is supposed to only set the device type to Launchpad on the DAW port.
You want it to look something like this
@neokruncher : Michael says that Loopy shouldn’t automatically mark the Launchpad MIDI port as a Launchpad and we are trying to figure out how that might happen.
Background: loopy sends a standard sysex message to devices asking them to identify themselves. Normally, a Launchpad responds from the DAW port with a message that identifies itself as a Launchpad. But, in your case the MIDI port also responded. (None of our test devices behave that way).
Is there any chance your Launchpad has old firmware?
What devices sit between your Launchpad and the iPad?
