Waldorf is definitely back on iOS 😎 Love their recent apps!
What will this be, a string machine kind of synth?!
The Streichfett was a physical string synth module I have thought about buying for years…

Remake of their hardware string synth
Ohh come on Waldorf! I must stop buying stuff!
The Soundonsound article linked to gives some context to some of the visuals seen…
That sounds good, looks like it is easy and fast to program too!
Ahhh. That was the least strange part, but thank you for clarifying.
I've been interested in the hardware Streichfett since it came out, will be getting this as soon as it's available.
I assume it is a port of their already existing vst version. You can see how it looks as vst here: https://waldorfmusic.com/streichfett-plugin-en/
And I look forward to it too! (Hope they plan to port all their software!)
a pass for me
Poly aftertouch is a yes from me... :-)
There's a 30 day, full function, trial for the desktop version.

Edit: tried it for a bit playing through the 16 presets available. Not that moved, no wows or anything, well maybe a bit disappointed. I mean, it sounds good, it's Waldorf, but then again: is this really all.
Same! 😄
Any string machines on iOS that you currently like?
Well there's the usual suspects with Logics inhouse, Swam and the freshly released Pure strings (haven't bought it (yet?)) but they are all sample based I think. Then there's Swam and GeoShread off course. Also, 4pockets StringLab is interesting sound-wise but it's a hard one to master.
I'm trying Streichfett in Reason Studios where I also have Friction (if you know you know)
I've been messing with it some more and it's growing on me but I'm really confused on the preset system: you get 16 slots and that's it, wanna save you have to write over the present examples.
Same as Igors VintageRack but he at least have 24 (factory) + 24 (user). Maybe they change it as it must be a remain from the hardware. It's a really strange idea for preset management any way you look at it.
edit: I forgot Steinberg Cubasis and Iconica Sketch/
AudioThing's RES-09
If the iOS version arrives that way, at least you could resort to saving presets in the host's preset system. If you only mainly use one host, that can work out well. (which is not to say they shouldn't have a robust preset system.)
strng

YES! I even have presets included so I'm a bit embarrassed I forgot.
I think some commenters here forgot that @Blipsford_Baubie's question was, what are your favourite string machines on iOS. String machine generally refers to a specific category of vintage (mostly 70s–80s) synths designed to emulate orchestral string sections, it's not a broad term. So things like Strng and the SWAM apps don't really count as string machines.
True! And @mjcouche and @dokwok2 recognized that, thanks! I’ll go listen to some demos.
@Pxlhg , i appreciate the gesture all the same. 👍
+1 this one is great
There's also Alina String Ensemble, which emulates a Solina string machine.
Streichfett's intro price, US$10, is very enticing.
My fav has been Hillman, very warm:

And let’s not forget GSI Electrorchestra
If you like Jean-Michel Jarre, you need this. I will say, I prefer the graphics on the hardware.
JMJ tunes you might know:
