Long time lurker, first time poster

Hi all, I’ve been hovering around here for years. Finally got the guts to introduce myself- I’m a producer by the name of Thought Fox. I’d love it if you could give my songs a listen! I’d appreciate any feedback

  • I like it :) It is not totally my type, but there's a great variety and good energy. Congrats on your release!

  • Thanks! I really enjoyed making it and have learned so much from this forum over the years

  • Out of curiosity, did you use mobile devices to make it or classic DAW?

  • Welcome to the forum :)

What are your favorite iPad/ios apps for music production?

  • Recently it’s been Battallion but I’ve loved using piano motifs, massive user of AUM, have struggled my way through Drambo (like everyone else) Aparillo is great for mental FM synth sounds, have a soft spot for VHS Synths…like to use gadget every now and then … never really clicked with patterning…use playbeat but it feels like cheating, I could go on

Mostly in Ableton - but I’d render stuff from AUM and then transfer it over

Your courageous to count your apps, I refuse to do it.

Donyou play any instruments as well? Any hardware?

  • Guitar, piano (both badly!)

I’m a big Elektron fanboy - Model cycles was my gateway drug but I’m no Takeshi Watanabi
Bit of Roland SH-4D but underwhelmed by it.

Did you give the music a listen?

I did! As I mentionned earlier, I like it. It is not really the kind of music I listen to, but there is a good variety and it sounded real good through my phone speakers. I am sure a lot of people could like it!

I listened to a couple of tracks and it’s great stuff. I don’t have a single genre I adhere to, if it’s good music I’ll listen and this is good music. The vocals are particularly well done. It’s very professional and I dig the art. Cool stuff.

What guitars do you play? What rigs?

I have one I got for cheap on Thomann and I run it through Bias FX with an iRig- seems to do the trick for me! I had a fancy semi-acoustic Takemime but my little brother nicked it off me

Nice choice , check out guitarist guide if you want to. (Just a chat thread for guitars and amps etc)

Irig isn’t bad - (Ironheart amp from @AuroraDSP might still be on sale for $15 which is an AWESOME amp I can recommend personally btw) - I have the irig as well, it does the job right?

Glad you’re able to make great music with simple tools and the iPad :)

No shame bud! I still use the OG iRig that plugs into the headset jack (and an old iPad with a headset Jack to boot!). The tools you choose don’t matter, it’s how you use them 🤙 Welcome!

  • Cool stuff, not to many releases here have vocals. A lot of variety too. First two songs reminded me of action movie scores from the 70s. Do you write the lyrics and sing as well? You should choose some for the SongOfTheMonthClub thread by Richard Yot.

  • Welcome! I just had a quick listen to some tracks and they sound great! Like Pxlhg said, the Song of the Month Club is a great place to share our creations and get feedback :)

Thanks! I've put one in there now.

  • Really good, thanks for sharing. Your vocals are great. You mention 'voice changing software' in your description, what software is that? Is it on iOS?

Nothing wrong with the old iRig.

  • I'm just first seeing this thread now? I do need to pull my head together. Welcome to the forum! Will give your songs a listen once laundry is finished.

Interface looks like nembrini, is that the jazz chorus amp sim? If so, how do you like it?

  • Ahh very very cool! I dig the range of vibes but all still sounds really cohesive. For me it's like Viagra Bowie Beatles of the StoneAge, I dig it!
