@fjcblanco I'm not sure why, but iTunes updates the version info separately from the app and description. In any case v1.3 is available now:

    Here's what's new:

    Bug Fixes:

    • Fix for iPad Air 2 crash on launch
    • Fixes for crashing
    • Improved tap and slide to set bpm

    New Features:

    • Swing setting
    • A new file format (.gumdrops) allows you to share your beats via AirDrop, email and messages.
    • Audiobus triggers let you control playback and quick pattern changes from other apps.
    • Double tap BPM or swing area to unlock BPM and swing settings while playing

    Performance improvements:

    • Huge performance improvements help older devices switch patterns more seamlessly while playing.

    Usability:

    • Prompt for filename when saving
    • New file browsers for beats and sound sets
    • Changed the behavior of corner buttons to allow for one handed use of Gumdrops. Now modes are activated by tapping a corner.

To show my gratitude I am dropping the price to $1.99 for all of December.

    Wow, looking good. Thank you.

    Thanks, CJ.

Right now, US store shows only 1.2 update, with a note on the top:

    "Description

Attn: iPad Air 2 owners, Gumdrops v1.3 will fix a crash that prevents it from starting and is pending Apple's review. Thanks for your patience."

BTW, my iPad shows the updated so I checked out and shows v1.3(33)

I already have the app, and love it a lot, but I bet the sale will put it on the top.

  • I think the App store updates in different regions at different times. Seems to be updated now when I search it :)

  • Keep at it CJ....thanks for your efforts.

  • Mar 30 '15 $4.99 -> $.99

  • hey did the audio export feature get updated in this app?

  • @kobamoto I am still working on a bounce loop feature. But you can currently record to wave, audiocopy, or use IAA or audiobus.

The $0.99 sale will run one more day so get it while it's hot :)

    Thanks,
    CJ

  • When I saw this was $.99 I thought "no brainer" without even knowing much about it. It certainly looked interesting enough to gamble a buck! LOL!! Hope to try it out tonight. Seeing the dev active here on the forum is definitely a plus.

  • Score. Easily worth 0.99. If you take the time to load your own tonal samples you'll quickly see that this app is actually a 64 track 16-step sequencer. It's not tooled for that so it can be a little cumbersome to use it that way but dayum. Honestly, I hope there's a pivot in that direction because it's amazing!

Hmmm. Food for thought. Have spent the last hour realizing that while I love something about Xynthersizr (and find it the easiest to 'play' of the similar offerings) I was either not seeing or genuinely missing (in the heartsick way) a song mode.

  • Yep, no song mode in xynthesizer either and I miss it there too. I pretty much always miss a song mode when it doesn't exist! I think some sequencers are designed to be played, like Gumdrops and midiSequencer, and as a consequence song mode (or pattern chaining) is very much an after thought. Totally respect it as a design principle, I'm just a song mode lover.

First I've heard of this, looks interesting, checking it out now!

Edit: it's fun, looking forward to the aforementioned bounce loop function. It could also use some more electronic kits but will work on putting some of my own together, maybe snatch some from gadget.

  • Like it, very nice app for performing live. It's like drum machine meets Launchpad :)

If only it had more kits... Hmm, I guess I can make it drive other drum apps I have

  • edited June 2015

I really like the unique interface to this, and the amount of depth available within the sequencer (specific to note resolution, I would always take more options for pitch/pan/etc.). Now that it can take Sync in, it will be very useful for me :D

  • Gotta try this after just watching Diug's video. I just have to say it looks SSSAAAWEEEEEEET!

  • Downloading now for some Friday fun.

I thought this came with more than one drum kit?

  • @Tritonman there is a free sound/kit pack that you can download by clicking the little shopping cart icon. BTW it may not be obvious, but there are way more samples included than kits that make use of them. So I encourage everyone to explore the sample browser from the pad editor view.

  • I am only showing one rock kit and nothing else for some reason. I already did the download but will shut IPad down and restart to see if that helps.

  • Nice update. Congrats on and thanks for the release @cjhanson

  • @Tritonman, there are two sections in the Sound Set browser that you can switch between using the buttons on the bottom... "Sound Sets" and "My Sound Sets" The free downloaded sets are in "Sound Sets"

  • Just the one soundest there , ample rock kit I think it is called .I tried rebooting but no luck.

  • I just deleted the app and will try to re download the kits.

  • Still just the one kit.

  • @Tritonman, Try using the Restore button from the cart. BTW feel free to message me directly via email cj [at] hansoninteractive.com

  • Cool thanks
