Some Free IAPs - Including Affinity Apps all have Free Lifetime Unlocks!

For Affinity - Create account or sign in, email verification, mine said it didn’t work but I went back to app and signed in using the email and PW and it worked. Take 7 day free account, Then once app opens tap account at bottom left, then tap on BUY under my license, which then takes you through the IAP process, the confirm registration. Cheers!

    Affinity Designer 2 for iPad

    Affinity Publisher 2 for iPad

    Affinity Photo 2 for iPad
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/affinity-photo-2-for-ipad/id1616823773

Looks like the Affinity Suite is being trashed. Either a subscription based V3, or completely replaced by a Canva version.

Certainly moving to something different, though they know they got a lot of customers from Adobe who didn't want a subscription. So maybe they're moving to a single app that combines them.

The question is whether they'll continue to keep the current versions running on future iOS versions. So far they've had a good attitude toward their customers, and have built up a lot of good will....

Photo 2 remains my favourite app for working on images, though I do RAW conversion elsewhere.

The desktop versions don't appear to be for sale any longer.

I think Procreate is much more focused on illustration/art, where Affinity is more like Photoshop and Illustrator: photo manipulation and designing.

If you need something for desktop, take Krita in consideration as well, it’s free and open source like Blender and Gimp.

What's recommendation for Vector graphics similar to illustrator (for point by point building) - I LOVE(d) Linearity Curve until it went Sub. Feels just like a pen-based illustrator (that my brain did a 1-to-1 skill translation when I first picked it up)

I still use it with the limited free but it's a hassle... I want something with single pay (like everything/everyone else)

True, I think it was named Vectornator first, and then it changed name and went behind a subscription wall.

As far as I know, Inkscape is the preferred desktop freeware. But I’ll certainly be in tears if I can’t use Designer on my ipad anymore. It’s literally the app I bought an ipad for back in 2018 and I’ve bought every app Affinity has put out since for iPad and Windows.

I’ve used a number of free and paid alternatives to Illustrator and to be blunt, nothing is as sophisticated or easy to use as Illustrator. There are no close competitors. I use Affinity Designer 2 only when absolutely necessary and it is like trying to perform surgery with soup spoons.

    Not really.
If Propellerheads' thor was still available, I'd recommended that one.
But Waldorf Nave isn't bad either.
    Or Animoog.
