Writing Jingles to Improve Your Songwriting

I had a lot of fun this morning creating some musical jingles for random products, so I wrote down my process and shared it on the Fiddlewax blog.

Just sharing here for those of you that may be feeling stuck and looking to get the creative juices flowing again. :)

  • Nice blog post, interesting approach to stepping out of the box. Throw down a DnB drum track with some filter sweeps and "Territory of Tea" could become an international EDM anthem ;)

The track is shared under Creative Commons, so I'll leave that task to some who knows EDM a little better :)

  • Wow! Tea! :)
My random product suggestion is a mp3 song.

  • Good idea, fun believable (if silly :) jingles, and excellent material for a blogpost. Please arrange for some unknown Aretha to sing the tea one.

Yeah, knowing only too well being stuck and without flow. If i can recover my unused soundcloud password, do you think, @adamkumpf, you could collect those jingle-jangles someone might contribute? Because with firo I feel really confident to being able to :)

  • My favorites:

  • @adamkumpf, I dig the tea one for sure. :-) I'd buy it!

  • Great idea Adam. I see that as a great way to relieve the pressure of coming up with more depth and focus on the song structure....or move into a more lucrative use of songwriting ;-)

    ...

  • Jingles, one from my childhood, quite fitting in the thread, 'I'd like to teach the world to sing'

    Pop music?

  • It is the 4th after all, a nice blast of a canon!

@crzycrs - Nice track! How do you think the jingles should be collected? As a short-term solution, I suggest anyone who wants to share can just post a link here (as you have).

If there's lots of interest in creating a Firo jingle collection, I can put together something a bit more organized, but really the idea is to just shake off the songwriting dust by creating a 15-30 second track about something random. :)

  • @adamkumpf Uh-oh. Thanks to the Song of the Month Club I have slowly been getting my output up to 2 and a half/3 minutes, but this sounds far more up the alley where my mammon monster lives... :)

    Sure, Adam.

Unreflected overenthusiasm and a puzzling pinch of inherent Schizo let me overact :/
On the bright side your idea lended me energy to try and venture to the Unknown Cloud :), looking forward for some advancements, personal and musical.
    Cheers, crs
