Behringer istudio and app compatability versions.

I just got a new Behringer iStudio in the mail today and got it all set up and realized that none of my guitar amp apps work with it at all. This, i am assumming is because im still utilizing a jailbroken IOS 6 ipad 2(i use it for file management purposes that native IOS seems to lack, makimg it hard to transfer and manage audio files between multiple apps and just have prefered the UI of 6 better than 7+). However, i am unable at this time to update my ipad to a latter IOS version since my computer is out of commission currently and need otunes to restore from jailbreak. So, my real question is, what actual guitar apps work with this dock(or the Alesis IO dock) and what versions of those apps are needed to be functional? I know Jamup uitlizes several interface inputs, but when i download an older version compatible with my pad, it just crashes upon opening the app.

  • @TorrBorr those docks are a bit wacky for my iPad 2. I'm able to use all apps on iOS 7 and 8 but only with an ipod dock extender. Kind of strange and redundant but it works. The best extender is by cablejive.

  • I've had the IStudio for years and every app works perfectly just plugging my guitar cord into either of the XLR input (I use #2) never had a problem. But I'm on an IPad 4 with current iOS version. (Lightning adapter)

  • It also worked with IOS 7&6 so maybe like you said your jailbreak.

  • Thats weird, might try an extender maybe. Im also using the free version of amplitupe if that may make a difference version 3.3 i think. When i plug it in, it says its an unsupported interface, but my ipad was at least recognizing the dock as well was my older gen ipod touch(have tried amplitube on the ipod though so not sure if it will work there). However, wont be able to test it since my daughter just dropped my pad while charging and bent two pins in the dock port. It still charges via a normal cable, but the two pins (via a diagram i checked out) responsible for outboard dock accessories now will not acknowledge the dock....so will have to get a replacement part for that.

  • Double post: im leaning towars an issue with my pad, either due to my jailbreak, which has been having substrate issues lately, or due to my dock port on the pad itself. I know that two of the pins got bent out of place and snapped off trying a hodgepodged repair. Still charges though via a standard USB to 30 pin charge cord bit doesnt see the iStudio. It might though with an extension adsptor not too sure. Either way i got a new port dock assembly coming in a few days. If it wasnt the port then i will know its the jailbreak.

  • Damn, that sucks. I send you rays of green slime to fix the problem, cheers.

  • Rays of green slime? Sounds like it would do the trick
