Loopy glitch
Maybe I should have posted this in the loopy forum or write directly to @Michael but since I've been sending him too many things lately and loopy forum doesn't have much traffic I thought I'd drop it here.
So loopy users.
Have you noticed a single glitch occurring shortly (+/- 2mins) after the session has started? I initially thought it had something to do with the complexity of my audiobus set up in which case it is hard to determine which app is causing it but this morning I was playing with loopy solo and that exact thing occurred too! When it happens with other apps I only have samplr directly playing slaved to loopy and it just quickly catches up with loopy right after the glitch so it doesn't affect the tempo that much.
The glitch itself is a typical latency sound like the one in Matrix when agent smith morphs into things just it lasts for a split of a second so is not as scary.
It's not something to start a revolution over or throw a fit and move to growing cucumbers for pleasure but if it got sorted it wouldn't be such a bad thing. Cheers.
Edit: by the way I'm on Air 2 but this used to happen an air and mini retina too.
Comments
I am having an assload of issues lately ( since the ABus remote I think)
Particularly, apps are not staying open or connected.
Soundprism Pro is constantly crashing.
I will put some time in on Loopy and see if it happens for me.
IPAD AIR (IOS 8)
The matrix has you.
Other than that, I don't know. My loopy sessions are never very systematic so I wouldn't really notice this sort of behavior.
Please try to reproduce this and tell us about it here. We'd love to know more.
It was a few weeks ago but I was doing some live sessions with mainly Gadget into Loopy using Audiobus. Gadget was synced to Loopy. All worked fine until a certain moment when there was a glitch and it all went out of time. To get it back in time I needed to restart everything. I thought it might have been Audiobus at the time but didn't have any reason why, could have been anything. It did this a few times. I haven't used this set up for a while (using Bluetooth and remote instead) but i'll keep an ear out for it happening again.
No, I had a session that I've recorded before and I was just playing it back. It's funny because I don't think it is due to any user action but it feels like there is some process that happens in the first couple of minutes of use that causes the glitch. I honestly have no idea but have noticed it always happens. Once it's happened I can play for hours with everything rolling fine.
@Fitz it sounds just like what I'm talking about. Fortunately the sync between loopy and samplr is so good that it isn't hugely noticeable. Samplr just smoothly slows down and latches back on. Gadget must be doing it differently and lost it completely.
Ah well, i will definitely try to capture it. Not to sure whether capturing it is going to help in finding the cause though.
