Rock Drum Machine gets AB!
I was just wondering about this app today! This is very cool!

Yay! Miracle of miracles. I was beginning to wonder if maybe the developer had been hit by a comet or something.
Wow! Waited months for this! He added IAA too and I confirmed that it works. Also a mixer to balance instrument volumes.
That's great news!
Does this have a song mode? Tempo changes, time signatures? Thanks!
This is going to make a lot of us very happy. I am updating now, I wonder what else is in yhis update?
Edit from above: When I said IAA "works", I meant that the app showed up as an IAA node for generator. I tried using it in Multi-Track DAW and there were no "triggers" that popped up for start/stop. Maybe not the case for other DAW's. AudioBus should work, I would hope.
It has made my weekend that this has had AB added! At last we are able to use these great sounds and rhythms in our songs. I'm not generally a huge fan of looped drum machines, but I can see me using this one a lot.
A few things would make it perfect - midi start/stop/sync, song mode, the ability to have a fill every x bars, but really, I'm just delighted that at last we can make use of this great sounding drum machine.

Those are good suggestions - a "fill" option would be nice given the way the app works. But we were luck to get this update, and I don't anticipate the developer putting a ton of new work into the app.
It's hard to explain why I like this app so much - it's basically a looper with some editing capabilities, but the interface just makes it so easy to load up a beat and then change the playing style, also. It's not really intended for doing full songs within the app, but now that we can get sounds OUT of the app, there are lots of ways to program loops and fills in a DAW.
This was similar in wait time that it took VocaLive to get AB compatibility. Took forever. @StormJH1, I agree that it's the user interface that makes it so accessible. The ability to change on the fly and the drum sounds! Fantastic. Can't wait to get at it.

I didn't really pay attention to this when it came out. It does sound really really good and it seems really easy/quick to get something usable happening. Oh, for song mode.
$4 for the rock drum sample library alone is tempting. Record to beatmaker->chop lab->ohai.
Hot damn!
Oh nice, I should watch Doug's video. Like I said, I really never bothered to learn the interface for it because you couldn't do anything with it. Without AB, IAA, or ACP, it had about much use in an iOS music workflow as a Little Tikes Xylophone:

One thing though: Is it only three instruments or "voices" at any one time? I haven't listened to the samples close enough, but it seems like you pick KickDrum + Snare + Hat or something, so I'm wondering if you can have like Toms and Cymbal Rides in a pattern that also has those three things.
I could find some uses for that xylophone. And I do think it's only 3 voices at once, but that would generally be true of an acoustic kit unless it was Horacio Hernandez doing his thing.
It's Luis Martinez doing his thing (he may know Sr. Hernandez, but prolly not).
Yes, three instruments at a time, typically kick, snare and one of hihats, ride or toms, although this is selectable. Within each instrument though, there are three different hit types, so for snare it might be soft hit, loud hit and flam, you can get open and closed hats and bell hits on the ride, so it really is quite flexible and you can get some very cool beats going very easily.

Great point. I thought I heard different velocities/hits in there. I still think it's a limitation, but the loops sound very human because of the hit variations.

I'm not familiar with him. But I've seen horacio do the left foot cowbell clave a few times, along with seemingly having 7 arms, pretty crazy but he grooves really hard too.
@mrufino1 Luis is the dev.
Ha! I see...

Well, here's the guy I spoke of:
You have the ability to change things like velovity per hit or bell ride vs rim ect by using the editor just experiment by changing the colors of the hits and then try adding or subtracting for a whole bunch of variations.
There are definitely limitations with only having the three tracks, even with variations, but actually I think it is a good thing as it keeps you focused rather than getting lost in too many instrument choices.
So simple to use but such nice results, thats what I like too!

True, and I also view this one a get-to-work looper, not a full editor. We have plenty of drum apps with sequencers that can do that better.
Not to mention that it just sounds so Rockin'!
Hello. I'm the developer of Rock Drum Machine.
Sorry for the delay updating with audiobus. I'm not a full time programmer and have been busy touring with my band, playing almost every night. Also... didn't know this forum, i discovered it today.
I will have more time in a few weeks to focus on the apps.
Thanks for the comments.
My facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/Lumbeat , follow me and I'll try to update more often.
Cheers and keep Rockin!
Hi Luis!
Thanks so much for the Audiobus update...I love the app ( as do many others), and I eagerly wait for any other developments that you make. The sounds and the overall feel of the app are first rate!
Luis - welcome to the forum! In addition to praising the app for its sound and feel, and being delighted that at last it has Audiobus, I did make a couple of suggestions regarding possible future developments. These included an option to have selectable fills every x bars, and perhaps a fourth instrument line for toms (hi, mid & lo). I hope these can be considered for the future.
@LuisMartinez - glad you are on the forum! As you may have noticed, a lot of people like your app a great deal and were anxiously awaiting AudioBus. Glad to see that it is finally here!
I was able to test some recordings with it and it does work with AB and IAA, although it tends to not have the IAA mini controls pop up. However, that happens with many IAA apps.
I looking at Super Metronome + the other day - one could almost program some decent drum tracks with that app as well.
Anyway, RDM has a nice human feel to it - one thing i wish is that you could have another instrument so it would be toms and snares instead of one or the other as your kit of 3.
