TfxMod by Ryo Togawa

https://apps.apple.com/app/id1524639578

Description:

TfxMod is a chorus / flanger effect AudioUnit Extension plugin. It uses delay lines which are inspired by BBD (bucket brigade device). The delay line is identical to the delay line of the TfxEcho except its buffer length. The delay line uses fixed length buffer and an artificial clock to sample input signal in variable sampling rate. When the delay time is changed, the delay line can produce pitch change effect which is similar to the behavior of the BBD based chorus / flanger unit.

Features
AudioUnit Extension

  • Delay Time: From 1 ms to 40 ms
  • Feedback: From 0 % to 90 %
  • Adjustable lowpass filter and high-pass filter.
  • Modulation rate: From 0.01 Hz to 10 Hz
  • Modulation width: From 0 ms to +/- 1 ms (chorus), From 0 ms to +/- delay time (flanger)
  • LFO Frequency can be synced to the tempo provided by the host application.
  • LFO Waveform: Continuously variable from sine wave to triangle wave.
  • Stereo Width: LFO Phase offset from 0 degree to 180 degree.

Host Application

  • Host application uses system audio input as an audio source and processed audio signal is routed to the system audio output.

  • Hang on... I’m getting déjà vu

  • Great! He also has the ChStrip out

  • I’m tempted but I’ve just bought BLEASS chorus. Anyone tried it?

  • I'm wondering whether this and the echo app could have been one package. That's what I like about things like Woodulator, it does what both this and the echo do in one package, and a lot more besides. Delay, chorus, pitchshifting, panning, filtering, all with a bunch of great morphing waveform lfos thrown in for good measure.

    I completely agree.

    wow..these effects sound good!

  • Bought it. Later I will make a video. So good.

His delay reminds me of the EHX Stereo Memory Man. I hope this is like the EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress Flanger! My first real synth was a Roland SH-1 and these were my first effects pedals for it. That’s where it all began. 😭

  • @anickt that sounds like a cool pedal! So does this tfx echo do things that Woodulator, Modley, Ratshack Reverb etc don't do? I'm very tempted, I love delays, but I don't see from the description what might be new in it for me.

I’ll do a comparison video as soon as I get home 👍

I was referring to his delay Charles, not the Flanger / chorus, though I will definitely be keen to see your comparison vid. Thnx!

It’s a very basic delay with a warm sound very much IMHO like the Memory Man analog BBD delay I had back in the 80’s. When you change parameters in real time you get that analog zing. I can make it sound exactly like stuff I have on tape from that era minus the clock noise and aliasing. 🤣

I don’t have Woodulator so I can’t compare. Medley is awesome but more complex. I would use it more if the interface wasn’t so fiddly. I had a hardware Ratshack and the app is pretty much the same but a different animal than the tfx. You need both. 😆

  • Haha, tempted, thanks

  • Bit the bullet, pretty nice, lot of character! Synced, the slowest delay is 1/8D though. Is that a bug? Seems weird. In free mode, you can do much slower. @anickt

On the Delay it’s tempo dependent. You’re talking the Echo right?

  • I am talking about the delay. OK, that makes sense, I was running a pretty slow tempo. Cheers
