AB3 MIDI into Samplebot Not Working?
Specifically I am trying to route my controller through different AB3 MIDI-FX before hitting the Samplebot MIDI-IN.
Issue #1 - When I open AB and go straight to the MIDI screen, Samplebot doesn't show up in the list as a MIDI output-destination app (the kind which would also auto-add itself to the Audio screen when selected). Probablly something minor?
Issue #2 - I can open Samplebot on the Audio screen just fine. Then I go back into AB3 and on the MIDI screen, I can route through the midi fx into a system Samplebot MIDI port that has shown up since the app is open. From there, I go back into Samplebot and set\enable Audiobus as the MIDI source but Samplebot isn't responding to that data stream.
Anyone have any thoughts? (@Michael ?) Is there a workaround?

Interesting. It seems as if Audiobus MIDI isn’t implemented in Samplebot. @Michael will should give Samplebot’s developer a good thrashing.
If you have set Samplebot as the output in Audiobus, set “Virtual Midi” as the input in Samplebot.
Or, set the output in Audiobus to “Virtual MIDI Bridge” and select Audiobus as the source in Samplebot.
I know it seems backward. But that’s the way Core MIDI sees things.
Yeah, SB's MIDI is only really half-done. I actually got about 80% of the way to a SB2 release with improved MIDI before deciding to put my efforts towards Loopy Pro instead 😄
Loopy Pro please.
How is that going by the way?
I mean, I can't even set a specific channel for Samplebot, forget about "fancy" MIDI routing through AB3.
Sooooo what you're telling me is that I am basically up the creek without a paddle / SOL ? 🤨
It’s quite easy to select a channel in the midi inputs and virtual outputs from Audiobus. You’re not up a creek without a paddle, you just need a bit of help learning how to row.
You can select which input channel Audiobus sees from your controller and/or you can select which output channel gets sent out of Audiobus. Note the “>” next to the selections on the AB3 midi page.
If you’d like more specific help, please describe specifically what you need to do. I’m sure it can be worked out.
