Something like google Deep Dream for audio.
Korg Gadget for iPhone and im done
Really?! Wow I own Thumbjam so I'll make a try to this then. Will be my frist stop, of course, love Thumbjam! Thanks @sonosaurus.
I had Midimorphosis too, but very complicated to me.
Can you give me a clue to set pitch tracking, please? Was impressed by your demo. Much appreciated and sorry for my bad english.
i want an app where i just put on some headphones so it reads brain waves so all i have to do is think of wicked ass music and its recorded in high quality audio and i also get midi files because why not. and i guess audiobus compatible maybe, why not.
I love samplers, something ios seriously needs.. Even considered making one myself for ios recently. Here's some of what I'd like to see
A modular sampler, a Roland VP9000, an Akai s3000xl and of course something like Yamahas A5000.. Oh and an Emu.
Hi guys
I'd love to see an app that lets me draw as many automation curves (not stepped bars!) as I like, that has midi sync & start/stop, so I can automate many synth apps at once! Until that happens there's always the M.Envs in Virsyn Tera, & of course Desktop hosts! All the best!
I had an Emu rack sampler in my old studio...lovely sound but awful interface lol
Didn't know you could do that, Thumbjam strikes again
I'd like to see Korg release the Wavestation for iOS and a Wavestation gadget for Korg Gadget similar to what they did to the M1. An iOS version of Propellerhead's Reason would be good as well as Roland releasing the D-50 for iOS.
I've always used Akai and I never got round to using an Emu sampler.. Always wanted the mighty E6400ultra.
iWavedrum
I always wanted an Akai lol.....actually I've always wanted an Emulator 2 but never got around to it. Nearly bought a second hand DSS-1 once but I stuck with the Emu, as I was just about to buy the Alesis Andromada and that skint me lol
Maybe ipad pro will make a fully funtional sampler move of a realistic proposition. Auria pro looks like will be a big step forward so looking forward to see what sampler in that can do
yes sampling is another area I would like to see expand on iOS. I suppose at the moment it's a small market with only the Air2 having 2gb ram and the base model still being 16gb.
Saying that, we used to deal with hardwear samplers with tiny ram, small hard drives and sampling times that one James Brown sample would fill!
I'm actually doing most of my sampling with FingerBeat or the Cubasis buit-in sampler, for longer recordings i still use AudioShare and cut them into pieces with TwistedWave on the computer it's Renoise & TwistedWave when sampling is needed.
Some interesting apps are around the corner (Beatmaker 3 and Fruityloops 3 which both will include a more advanced sampler).
Way way back I used to mess around with EMU ESI-32 and sending over samples using SCSI from an ancient PowerMac G3. And I do miss my SW1000XG with the PLG-150AN. (It simply does not run under modern operating systems be it mac, windows or linux).
Even with all the tools at hand I still wish for a software implementation of the Korg Electribe ES-1 because it is/was a blast to use too bad the smart-media reader is dysfunctional...
And well, Clavia apparently doesn't wan't to monetise on bringing us a VST/AU or iOS version of the Nord Micro Modular which is a real shame
Regarding Sample-Memory, the first 'sampler' I got was an Amiga 500 with 512kb of ram and the samples were 8-bit at around 16Khz. Guess that's why I'm still doing sample accurate trimming so the storage-space is not wasted in vain
I had a SCSI CD player for my EMU sampler and thought it was the bees knees after loading from floppies!
The Amiga was a cool machine. Many happy hours trying to figure out Octomed lol
After a few years of MIDI Sample Dump, I can take pretty much any protocol at any speed. I reckon the current BM2 sampler scratches most of the itches people talk about when it comes to 'proper' samplers which generally translates to 'good old' samplers. BM2's sampler is most definitely a bit of a mess but it also most definitely blows my beloved S760 out of the water feature wise.
Beatmaker 2 is technically really good. It does have some flaws that 'kill it' for me, like the selection tool when editing samples, it's just a real pain to make a fine selection as it's too easy to loose the whole selection when zooming on or out in the sample and there is no way to move and re-organise the samples/files unless moving them to dropbox/ftp and then back again.
It's the small annoyances that kill the enjoyment of using an otherwise fine app...
Agree BeatMaker2 is so nearly a great app, just needs some tweaks here and there. Funny how I can moan at its little foibles after using old hardwear, but touch screen devices have made me lazy.
SOME kind of West Coast modular system! why has this not been done? it is a huge and obvious vacuum needing to be filled-
another no brainer is a professional audio editor like Sound forge or Wavelab - there are only a few basic ones-
Agree on a Soundforge clone. I love Twisted Wave, but it's not SF or Audition.
+1 for wavelab/soundforge level audio editor. Not the current versions, natch, like a 1999-2002 version.
The way you iPad guys go on about it I would have to agree.
Please join me in pulling out my hair over the fact that no dev has created this on the iPad yet!!!!!
I said it before in another thread: an iOS version of Recycle.
I would add a loop marketplace: the ability to upload loops and samples, and give them away for free, or charge for them.
If this appeals to any of you devs, let me know. I'd be interested in potentially funding it.
I've still got my Amiga sampler, though I chucked out my 500+ years ago.
is that Perfect Sound?
Actually, I would really like a few new Korg Gadgets (although the app itself does already exist, which violates the terms and conditions of this thread, I suppose).
I really think it needs a video synthesizer, as another gadget. It could be influenced by the note data in other gadgets, or have its own specialised control surface (not a keyboard thanks), or both at the same time with differing weighting.
I also, in concert with the above, think it needs a titling generator. This would generate text titles or captions, and sequence the text output so that you could paste a whole page of something (like lyrics, a shopping list, or a world domination manifesto) and each line is displayed (and perhaps animated or moved) one at a time, with selectable tempo sync (i.e., lines start on bar n and live for x bars).
I also think it needs a speech synthesizer, which can feed from the same text resource as above.
Or maybe it shouldn’t be Gadget after all, but another separate thing (and preferably an audiobus capable thing, but then you’d need another data type in audiobus, for timed-text handling).
No, mines a Techno Sound
iCS80. And an IOS version of Vocaloid (or similar) which makes full use of the expressive touch interface.
