BIAS Amp for bass?

edited September 2015 in General App Discussion

I see BIAS Amp is currently on sale, and was wondering if any bass players have had any experience with this app. I currently use the default bass amp sim in Amplitube, and it works well enough. Would BIAS offer me anything that Amplitude does not? I do not own a six string electric, so it would be purely for bass for the time being.

  • Yes, bias has bass amps and bass cabinets and does sound really good. Is bias on sale or bias fx? I don't have fx, just bias amps.

  • I'm an upright and electric bass player. I like what I've been able to try so far but I still prefer micing my bass amp.

  • Yep. I recently discovered the Ampeg Blue Line in Bias. Moved it over to JamUp Pro to replace the Orange as my main bass tone. Lovin' the thuggin' :)

  • Thanks for the input everyone. Nice playing, Flo. There should be an Extreme Funk warning on that first track! I also have a Music Man in my arsenal, so it was nice to hear the MM tone coming through via BIAS.

I just bought both BIAS Amp and JamUp Pro on sale. For $10 total, if I'm able to get a nice range of bass tones, it sounds like a good deal. Off I go. What better way to spend Labour Day than swapping out virtual tubes!

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to move BIAS FX sounds from iPad to JamUp on iPhone?

Not at the present time, The politically correct answer is that it's a totally rewritten engine, that's not compatible with their legacy apps

The non politically correct answer, buy our new -ish yo!
