Thanks you Lars. Great to know Cubasis is ready for iOS 9
I'll wait for iOS9(I'm still running iOS8.4.1) before I do an in-depth analysis, maybe it behaves differently?
My external USB-Behringer UCA-202 (Identified as USB Audio CODEC in Cubasis 1.9.6) only records when headphones are attached to the iPads headphone output (The input signal goes 'silent' when I unplug the headphones and resumes again when I attach them). Output to the UCA is silent no matter how I try to configure it (It works with other apps though).
For me this is not a problem as I enjoy monitoring thru the iPad's headphone output while recording using the UCA-202.
During this test I was not using AudioBus at all.
great stuff and great news Lars.
@LFS, will iOS9 facilitate exporting Cubasis Projects and audio files to and from iCloud Drive? I do not want to support DropBox. Apple has a solution. Every iPad user already has an iCloud account. Gigabyte expansion is at a very reasonable cost.
iCloud Drive is not yet supported with Cubasis but on our list...
@LFS Super! iCloud Drive (ie. iOS-FilePicker) will be nice addition for importing/exporting files as many of us use AudioShare (Which acts as iOS-FileProvider) as out 'hub' for loops, samples and other audio-files.
If possible add an option to select multiple files in the media-bay for file-operations to the 'list'
Can I be a total pain and ask whether it would be possible to use split screen in iOS 9? Have the beta on at the moment (yes, I'm an impatient idiot) and it doesn't seem to at the moment. Have air 2, of course!
Samu, could you try it with audio is?
Mine is working great and haven't updated until I'm sure it works with audiobus.
@Samu said:
I presume you mean AudioBus
With Cubasis (1.9.6) in the Output-Slot of AudioBus input & output with my UCA-202 works perfectly.
Cubasis recognises the UCA-202 as "USB Audio CODEC" just as it should.
Remains to be seen if CoreAudio in iOS9 is 'improved' when it comes to handling USB-Audio devices
i think he meant AudioGus
@LFS, is "MIDI Learn" on your list yet for improving Cubasis? I really want to concentrate on using one main DAW on my iPad. I hope you have some added features planned to upcoming Cubasis updates that will compete with the release of Auria Pro?
+1 for MIDI learn. Getting HW control of the mixer and fx parameters would be a solid addition.
I would like a few solid bug fix updates. 8)
I'm happy to report that iOS9 works better than I expected with Cubasis.
No more problems with recording & playback using the UCA-202 and the output automagically switches between the UCA-202 output and the iPad's headphone-jack which is just the way I like it. So it is possible to monitor using the iPads headphone jack and record using the UCA-202.
Under iOS8.4.1 it was not even possible to record from the UCA-202 without having headphones connected to the iPad's headphone-jack unless everything was routed thru AudioBus...
iCloud-Drive support will be a very welcome addition in a future update
Sorry - wrong thread - this actually belongs to the iOS9 - thread...
I like the split-screen feature a lot. But choosing the app you want to have in the split seems not to be well thought out. When more and more apps are offering split-screen it could be a very frustrating scrolling-experience to choose the right app with the current implementation. A search-bar on top of the scrolling-list would be very handy.
Definitely! I'm not a fan of iCloud Drive but 50GB for $1/month... I wish Dropbox had such cheap plans
@LFS +1 for midi learn and also when is Cubasis going to be ready for AU
Since Cubase on Mac doesn't support AU I would be (pleasantly) surprised if Cubasis supported them on iOS
@BiancaNeve iOS is a different ball game, it would be stupid if the other iOS DAW support it and they don't .
@yug Naturally I mean support for the iOS-FilePicker which is often miss-named/labeled as 'iCloud Drive' in the apps as this would grant us access to all the files stored in AudioShare and other apps that act as iOS-FileProviders
Ah, now I get it. Apple calls it the Document picker.
