VIDEO: Trapped In Kaoss – iKaossilator Trap Track

Trapped In Kaoss, my latest track performed live with iKaossilator by KORG. A very cool Trap style track, made in mere minutes from starting up the app.

  • Also, I would love to hear out anyone owning a Volca, any Volca. I'm interested in getting one myself and I'm leaning towards the Volca Sample.

Yeah, the Korg demo vid with every sound beginning as a piano sample is very impressive. Real sample mangling!

Hi Jakob, I have a volca keys and bass and am very near to getting the sample, they are very addictive and a definite gateway drug to more expensive gear :)

The mobile form factor is really cool, kind of like having real life Korg Gadgets!

@gsm909 yup that's the video that one me over! :)

  • @Carnbot I've been browsing sites with people selling second hand volcas all weekend. But no luck yet. :(

Good luck...it seems to be slightly more expensive than the others. Look forward to a Haq special on the Volca Sample :)

Sometime over the next few weeks I'm going to attempt the midi out mod, there's quite a few tutorials out there and it doesn't look too difficult....

  • @Carnbot I dont even know there was a MIDI out mod available. I love DIY electronics so I'll probably add it to mine, when I get it! :)

This is the simplest mod I found, you don't even have to drill a hole for a midi socket, since this one goes out of the sync port..but you do have to make a special midi cable.

At the bottom of thread you can see a diagram of a midi cable head I found.
If you included a mod tutorial in your video I'm sure you'd get a lot of views :)

  • @Jacob this iKaoss video is fantastic...

    1. I love what you're doing with iKaoss - some really nice technique pulling off that record stop effect, the drum rolls etc... Very very cool.

    2. I love that bit where you do the little double fist pump. Brilliant :)

  • @Carnbot That's some great information, thank you so much for sharing it with us! :)

I've planned on doing some kind of DIY electronics videos, something like this would be perfect!

  • @Matt_Fletcher_2000 I'm honoured you like it so much! =D
