QuNexus 25key.. Thoughts?
Thinking of getting one, any good? I like the fact you can quickly change midi channel on the keyboard
Comments
i've been using one of these ever since they released...and it's pretty dope man. However, if you intend to purchase it then get the original one actually called 'QuNexus' and not the cheaper 'K-Board.'
Cool good to know, my local store only has the QuNexus in stock
I love mine, sold all my other midi keyboards after I got used to it.
I've got one - very cool little controller. It is a "buttony" keyboard, but very responsive and the soft keys give a nice sense of "feel" to how you are playing, as opposed to something like a Nanokey. Plus the amount of controller data it can generate by rolling your finger is fun/expressive with the right patch!
Tweaking it with the pc app was critical for me. When I first fired it up it felt, well, like a Nanokey, but messing with the velocity curves and controller sensitivity really brought it to life.
It's certainly not a piano keyboard, but I see it as a unique (and very well built) controller that compliments the iPad touch interface.
Yeah I love the Qunexus. Great size, build and a really versatile controller. Just wish they'd release an iOS configuration app for it.
Sold..
One last quick question, can I choose what midi cc is sent from the pressure sensitivity (ie something other than velocity)?
YES, this would be great, these and other "little" controllers which works just fine with iOS, needs iOS confiApps too, i just use my Laptop with Live for Mixing&Mastering, & for editing these, and it would be really great to send the Laptop in Holiday for this.....just playing music with iOS Stuff brings me back the joy of the art of playing.....
THX for that.
Yes you can
I love the QuNexus, I'm still looking
for the right velocity curve though.
Ok that is awesome
I heard back from support and they said they are considering making iOS editors for their products in the future. So it's a way off but at least they are thinking about it....
I've struggled with dialing settings in. Can presets be shared? I though that was possible.
Recently got one and I have to say that the idea is great. However, velocity response of the keys are quite uneven. Even after changing individual key sensitivity, I have to slam the keys real hard to be able to reach 127 in some keys. A quick research online shows that this is a common issue. As much as I would love to keep it and use it, I will have to return it back to the store.
TL;DR If you can find a unit that has keys with similar velocity response, you are going to love it.
Yes presets can be shared.
I'm with @SirKen my only complaint about the controller is the velocity, it shouldn't take that much pressure to get to 127.
Thanks @Calcutta.
Anyone feel they have any presets worth sharing?? I'd love to check them out, and hopefully see what I've been doing wrong.
I have a couple cool CC presets made for my Roland SH-32 if you happen to have one of those They may be universal applications of the CC's. I'll put it up later.
Thanks @CalCutta. I don't have the SH-32, but it still might be useful to see the curves and CCs.
