Midibridge & using Virtual MIDI with Core MIDI only apps?

Hi, I was recently trying to use BM2 or Pro MIDI to play the Peter Vogel Fairlight CMI app, but neither BM2 nor Pro MIDI use Core MIDI, and the CMI app only seems to work with that. If I bought Midibridge, would I be able to get those former apps to use Core MIDI? I wanted BM2 to have 8 MIDI tracks, assigned to channels 1 through 8 so I could play all 8 instruments in the CMI at once.

Thanks!

  • I can't say "yes" conclusively, but I think it should work. Try downloading the free FreEwi app to test it?

  • Yes. MidiBridge is a lingua france for IOSs baroque MIDI variants. So is MIDIFlow. But check like ^^^ with FreEwi, uses same tech as MidiBridge. But you only get one instance. MidiFLow lets you "fix" multiple interface funnies.

  • @boberto @dwarman thanks I'll try FreEwi first.

  • FreEwi alone acts as a bridge, and since I don't need more complicated routing than that I think I'm gonna stick with this for now, thanks!
