Virtual ANS as a spectral clean up tool
So I've imported tracks into virtual ANS hoping I could use the spectral view/drawing to paint out certain background noises and do a cleanup. Unfortunately it seems impossible to import stuff without it sounding super low res and glitchy. Don't think it's the bitrate. Not sure. Couldn't find any good documentation about it. Anyone know how to do it or what import settings to use? Please help

It won't do it. Not what it's for.
It's more akin to sample rate. Virtual ANS is a spectral re-synthesis instrument, with 720 (if I recall correctly) fixed pitch sine wave oscillators, spread across the audible frequency spectrum, controlled by the brightness of each pixel on a vertical line in an image. So it lacks the frequency resolution. I don't know what the maximum temporal resolution* is (how quickly it switches to the next set of oscillator levels) but it's not in the hi-fi sample-rate range.

I see. Thanks I was a bit confused. Thanks for the quick reply
