List of tracks made with the original M1?

I've tried doing a Google search for a nice comprehensive list of tracks produced with the original Korg M1, and all I could find were lists of about 8-15 (depending on the list) early 90s dance tracks that either made use of the Piano or the Organ Bass. I also found out the slapbass from the Seinfeld series was a patch from the M1, so at least I found one non-dance track.

Maybe somebody here can help me out, but does anyone know where I can find a comprehensive list of 100s of songs from the late 80s to the 90s spanning all genres (pop, new age, rock, dance, etc) produced using the M1 (whether a couple parts or the whole thing)? Conversely, do you guys know without a doubt any tracks produced with it (whether part of the arrangement or the whole arrangement)? The point is I'd love to hear the M1 back when it was in its prime. Thanks in advance.

  • I always associate it with soundtracks from the 90s - for example True Romance (I have no evidence to prove that it used the M1, but it sure sounds like it did).

  • Late 80's early 90's? Just about anything would have involved an m1 in some way.

But to add one to the list -Janie's got a gun by Aerosmith. The main figure in the song is also a slap bass patch but not played that way.

  • A lot of Korg M1 can be heard on OMD's Sugar Tax album from 1991.

  • I believe Gary Numan used the M1 and D50 mixed on many tracks in the 90s

  • Someone posted this the other day

  • Intro to "I'm going slightly mad" by Queen, also other songs from the Inuendo album (I believe).

  • Suffice it to say it was everywhere when it came out. I'm sure it made its way into many songs, commercials and soundtracks over the years. The brass was used a lot as well as some string sounds.

Hey guys. Thank you for the answers so far. :) I have plenty of interesting music to listen to. Also, the Seinfeld theme in Gadget is SICK!

I've been listening to Black Box all day today since their Dreamland album has the M1 written all over it (including the titular track). I was looking more for World music tracks as well as Easy Listening tracks that used the M1. :P That's the kind of sound I'd like to produce since I'm mostly bored with dance music.
