Patterning driving Drumperfect. Help!!!

Sure you can trigger Drumperfect with Patterning via MIDI and sure this should be fairly easy. Have had no luck! Is there any one patient enough to give me a step by step guide? Have had no luck trawling the net for an answer.

  • In DP turn on Patterning in the midi sources section of the Settings page.
In Patterning, on the File page, press on midi configuration. Turn on the Midi Track Outputs. Also you need to change each of the tracks output to Channel 10 (DP's default), and change the notes it's sending out.
DP calls notes something different but here are the ones you put into Patterning for the first 8 tracks of DP (i've used the Acoustic full kit, but it's just the first 8 instruments)
    Kick - B1
    Snare - D2
    HH closed - F#2
    HH open - A#2
    Hi Tom - D3
    Mid Tom - A2
    Floor Tom - F2
    Ride 1 - D#3

    Hope that's ok

  • Just curious as to what you are trying to achieve? If DP has a kit you want to use in Patterning, you may be better sampling the kit to run in Patterning.

  • Maybe multi sampled kits?

Could be....just curious. I always look for alternatives to using midi on my iPad lol. Maybe because I use it to jam and I find iOS midi to be unreliable, unless it's just to record something quick.

  • Thankyou muchly Fitz. Will give it a go once munchkins are in bed.
