Apps with 3D Touch
Because I'm a dweeb and I love compiling lists.
First up to my knowledge is Bismark bs-16i
Next we have orphinio
Comments
Well, Smule's magic piano has it, and they use it for velocity, interestingly enough. It's not terrible actually, but I'm curious if they got away with it because they weren't particularly low-latency in the first place.
(I'll be adding it to DJ and TJ soon...)
Orphinio. Would be interested in seeing how this works given it relies on low latency I guess.
@sebastian: thx, for the vimeo shortcut
Mitosynth joined too...
I was just logged on to let @Cinebient know about Mitosynth but you beat me to it!
Hehe, i was expecting Wooji Juice to add this feature. Mitosynth is still a reason i would like to have an iPhone 6S plus. Now with 3D touch i could create some nice patches which supports it. But it´s so damn expensive
Thanks Cinebient, just tried it and it works a treat. This is going to be a lot of fun..
Would like to know how smooth it works when adding and/or removing pressure continous.
Hard to give you an exact answer but you can get a good variety of responses with a bit of practice. It's polyphonic too so you can hold down a chord and vary a single note at a time. But that takes a bit more concentration.
Thank´s... when ThumbJam add this too it would be great as MIDI controller for me as well. Still thinking about that Seaboard Rise but 2 octaves is a bit pricey here.....mmmhhhhhh
Wooji Juice makes good juice. Nice guy, open minded.
Yeah, it will never be a substitute for something like the Seaboard Rise but I'm sure anyone could add some kind of expression with this. Works nicely on the Orphinio app mentioned above, starts to feel a bit like playing tuned percussion, nice response to it.
is 3D Touch = MIDI After Touch?
That is how it has been implimented by Orphinio and Mitosynth. It makes sense that that is what you would use it for and it can be routed to control almost anything in Mitosynth.
How's that force (I mean 3D) Touch coming along?
After i broke my iPhone 5 finally today i bought an iPhone 6S plus as impulse.
The 3d touch works really great and very accurate. Even close to my seaboard rise..... beside the tactile feedback of course.
I like it.... please more apps!
How many levels (2, 3, 5, 127?) of sensitivity with 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s Plus? Does anyone know the specs?
In my testing it is on the order of about 127... not linear, generally more resolution in the lighter end of touching, which is a good thing.
I tryed it with the Roli Noise 5D app of course and Mitosynth. It needs a bit of get a feeling but for a first generation 3d touch device it's great for me.
I connected my Seaboard Rise via bluetooth with the Noise app and things like velocity works better there and in general it's of course a greater experience to play it compared on a touch screen but f.e. using X, Y and Z axis at the same time f.e. works better on an iPhone due to the flat screen design.
Once 3D Touch comes to the iPad it will be included in more apps.
If it comes....
I don't see a reason not to include it on future iPad models. the reason it was not included in the iPad pro or might not be included in the iPad Air 3 (according to some reports) are more technical (couldn't be adapted to bigger screens as it is now) than apple don't planning to include the feature on iPads at all.
Yep, i just thought we don´t know if they can get it ready for huge screens in a year. Someday for sure. I would like to see apple making some new amazing macbook pro 15" (better 17" again). I experienced that the larger the screen the more uncomfortable is touch for me (beside the iPhones where 4" is too small). IOS devices are mainly additional input devices for me and can´t and will never replace other tools as long as iOS breaks the evolution.
But it could be that we see a lot midi control apps using all this sensors. That would be great and maybe worth to buy such a pad as controller device.
I ask me if the Surface 5 will have such a feature too
