Looking for an iPad stand? Legos work really well
I was in need of an iPad stand for use on a desktop, and was set to buy one online, but instead decided to shop around the city to see if I could find one. Having no luck I was thinking of building one using wood blocks, or some other material. Then it dawned on me: Legos!
Bought a basic set and threw one together really quick, and it works wonderfully. Obviously you can adjust it to just the way you want it, and everything is perfectly sturdy.
I would post some pics, but the first one I made is pretty crude, just made to see if it would work.
Strangely, now I want to build more stuff. Feel like a kid again.

Great idea, sounds like fun!
This felt appropriate, a little White Stripes:
I use my wife's sexy legs when I'm on the sofa. We both love Lego though.
I also use Lego to carry, hold, and pin iDevices. Sometimes together with wood, and sometimes with additional help with screws.
haha...what a great idea. It's just a few years back that i alway had a box of legos ready to hand.Nice way to relax I still have it in the cellar, should pick em up and try it myself.
Good idea, interested to see how you did it. I'll have to wait until Monzo Jnr has gone to bed before I nab some of his Lego stash...
Like I say, pretty crude. Just a basic square base, with one side built up to set the tilt, then the opposite side with a ridge to keep it from sliding. I made the ridge with 6 separate pieces in case one of the pieces fails the iPad won't slide out.

These a $2.80 AUD at Daiso (Japanese $2 store). They are steel with a soft rubber nonslip pad. They work perfectly with iPad and all tablet really. Probably $1 in the EU and US
Some kick ass robots:

One super mega kick ass robot, made with all the leftover pieces:

This Lego stand idea did have one minor problem: I made a stand with more upright tilt and it ended up sliding ever so slightly when used on a wood desk. As a solution I placed it on top of a trivet made of a cork type of material which gave the base more grip, something to consider.
Amazing. I want 2. Could you share a link or a brand name or something?
Daiso is an ikea like company, just make their own product and nothing is over $2.80

They have 700 stores in 25 countries
yes, either you attach the Lego to the surface with screws or you attach some rubber/cork type material to it.
Brilliant. Thanks.
