  • Appoholic not Applholic.

  • Not on the top of my list but I'll probably watch it eventually, Fassbender is a good actor.

    Nice. No here too

  • I'll be checking out when it is released on Apple TV. I mean how could you not? Danny Boyle of Trainspotting fame as director. Aaron Sorkin is the screenwriter and as @firejan82 said Fassbender is a great actor.

@JohnnyGoodyear I'm surprised by your answer. You being a film buff and all. Maybe I phrased the question wrong about seeing it in the theater.

  • No but maybe netflix in year or two

  • Danny Boyle so on watch list. Probably not the theatre though.

Exactly. I will NOT be seeing it in the theater :)

I am very interested in hearing what the brethren have to say about it however...

  • No, after pirates of silicon valley, and the other Steve jobs movie, I don't think there's much more I need to know about him. Making it more dramatic won't change much. He's an interesting guy for sure though.

Just my opinion of course, I won't begrudge anyone who does want to see it.

As an aside though, I am happy that Anthony Michael hall has now played Bill Gates, Mutt Lange, and farmer Ted. That's a fun career right there (not sarcastic).

    +1

Just saw Fassbender drunken slip and fall in Slow West. Looked so real I thought it must have been one of those happy filming accidents. But then I remembered he did some similarly impressive slipping and falling in 12 Years a Slave...

  • No aliens, world´s end or dark forces involved..... so no ;)
It would be more something for TV running in the background...

  • A few car chases and some big explosions; then it might be worth seeing it on the big screen.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one. My opinion is when you are dealing with a person of historical importance more is better. :) It's like when famous actors play U.S. presidents in one act plays. It's cool to see different interpretations.

  • I was interested in seeing this, not in a theatre but in a cinema. Then, just now, I clicked the play button on the trailer above and I really don’t think I will. Maybe I’ll casually keep an eye open for it on Kodi on my Raspberry Pi 2, or maybe not.

Unless it’s one of those cases where the trailer is entirely unrepresentative of what the thing it is promoting actually is. The trailer completely put me off. It looks like they strung together all the commonly-known facts and points of the story, and turned it into an action thriller. I bet it even starts with a car chase and flip-over scene.

  • No car chase - cars have Windows...

  • I liked the South Park version.

  • I'll be seeing it - not sure whether or not I'll catch it in the theater, simply because I reserve that for my Marvel fix and the occasional Life of Pi ... but as for "do I want to see it?" - well they had me at the title and Danny Boyle.

Speaking of Danny Boyle, "Sunshine" is such an underrated Sci-Fi gem :)

Sunshine is awesome! Classic pure SciFi. Cillian Murphy is great in it.

  • Like a lot of folks, I'll watch it on Netflix or whatever. I usually reserve the cinema going experience for the blockbusters.

:) Agreed. Chris Evans, too. I think after Steve Jobs, Danny Boyle will officially be out of genres to conquer ...

Yes from Trainspotting, Slumdog, Trance, are very different. Haven't seen Babylon yet.

What did you make of 'Trance'? I have it sitting on The Very Big Pile of As Yet Unwatched Movies.

    Worth a punt?

  • On the subject of good movies, I watched 2 greats over the weekend: Two Days, One Night and Norte: The End of History.

I will be passing on this Steve Jobs film. Aaron Sorkin makes me cringe.

Brave man on Norte. Have been trying to summon up the courage (and the time). Does look good however.

  • The cinematography alone makes it worth a watch. Being the most intelligent adaptation of Crime and Punishment on record certainly doesn't hurt.

  • Think I'll wait for the updated version.

  • No Thanks.

I thought it was good. I like Fim Noir. Some art thieves kidnap James McAvoy (another great actor) who was involved in an art heist and can't remember where hid the picture. They torture him first take him to a hypnotherapist but things are not what they seem. A fun movie more in the vein of Shallow Grave as far as the tone.
