Esspresso by KLEVGR review – haQ attaQ 91

Esspresso by Klevgränd Produktion (KLEVGR) is an exceptionally well made De-esser! I’ve used it thoroughly for two days, and I am already in love with the

  • Forgot to say Jakob, I really enjoyed this video and got a lot out of it as I am just getting into recording vocals. Unfortunately I'm all about the iPhone since getting my shiny new toy so I can't use Esspresso at the moment. But it did inspire me to try and make my own version in SunVox.

Looking forward to further vocals based videos, thanks again.

  • Excellent @jakoB_haQ and Thank You!

  • I have had this open, but not played, on my desktop for two days. I WANT to believe or more accurately I want to find a magic DS-er, but secretly a) I know I already own the Auria plugin but am ashamed for not really getting my money's worth out of it (yet) and, b) talking of money, the $7.99 price tag put me off for some reason. Or at least put me off until I see the magic Mister J will no doubt weave....

  • @Jocphone Love that style! I don't have one, so let's build one. Brilliant!

  • @JohnnyGoodyear It's not easy deciding sometimes. So, I'm curious, have you seen my episode yet? ;)

  • Watched it in the depths of the night. Just you and me Jakob :)

Good stuff. I liked that it was short. Sometimes a vid can or should be short. Get in, get the good stuff, get out again. The app looks good, but then I like the K approach to graphic design/simplicity, as you do. I think I would still like a more direct 'here are 10 seconds without it and here are the same 10 seconds with it', but for all of that your vocals sound soft and clear (maybe a tad bassy) and that's the best proof I guess.

@JohnnyGoodyear I'm working on a series about recording vocals using different sources and apps. I'll make sure to do a LOT of A/B-ing in those episodes! :)

  • @jakoB_haQ Good man! Speaking from down here at the willing-amateur department of engineering/producing/mixing I'm pretty sure that some of weak fools among us tend to think that many apps have a limited effect on what we're doing when in reality it is our lack of fiddly skill that is limited, not the apps. Being able to hear the real difference that talented twiddling can make is encouraging (for me anyways).

  • @JohnnyGoodyear That is a very sound observation (pun intended). I've done stuff like this for ages so I know what to listen for.

I'll try to make my vids/sound more clear in the future. =D
