What beat slicing options are there for the iPhone?

I can only think of Beatmaker 2. What other options can you think of? Are there any old school methods? Thanks!

  • Audioshare?

  • SunVox? That seems to be my answer to everything at the moment.

Didn't @RUncELL make a video doing something like this with it?

Beat Twirl detects transients, does drum replacement, exports slices

  • but does beat twirl actually work now, last time I tried it which was long ago it was a mess?

  • It's pretty simplified but Yellofier could work.

  • Twisted wave

    Pretty messy

  • Depnds exactly what you want to do/have in mind, but for dealing individually with samples, fine editing etc, Twisted Wave is really very good.

Thanks for the mention @Jocphone.. If anyone has 14min spare, Here's a link to the vid

    Egoist may give results also

    :)

  • Egoist not on the iPhone though.

Just a thought, but actually you could try MTD for manipulating audio very precisely on an iPhone.

  • Ah !. not Egoist then, thanks Matt.

  • Thanks for all of the responses guys! I'm actually looking for something like Abu Dhabi, Korg Gadget's dynamic loop slicer. I don't believe it exists for the iphone, but I was looking for anything that would possibly work (including any old school methods. I've looked through the suggestions you guys have made, and compared the applications. I did notice that AudioShare states the following as one of its features:

    • Allow snap-to-beat while zoomed in.

If I am able to cut and slice, I can load these slices into any of the numerous drum samplers available for the iPhone. I was just hoping for something easier. :-)

Does anyone know if AudioShare can make multiple cuts to a loop and export them all individually?

Anyone else have some things to try? By the way, it looks like MultiTrack DAW does beats as a measurement option, and snap to grid, so it might work too......

  • BeatTwirl should do it. But it's fiddly.

  • Audioshare doesn't do what you want. You'd have to do it slice by slice (although that's possible and I've done it myself from time to time).

Beat maker 2 is probably your best bet for this. It's 'chop shop' does pretty much exactly what you want.

I hope you give Kymatica a yell and request the slicing for audioshare, first of all he'd do it right, and second of all he'd do it right!
