iOS DAW with MIDI OUT (multiple). Does anybody know one?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for iOS Daw which features MIDI out like Cubasis (you can choose specific midi out device with channel like "Sunrizer channel 2" or "Sampletank channel 3".I also have Beatmaker 2, but you can just choose midi out channel, but not device you want to send midi messages to.
What I want to do is to connect hardware synth ( Yamaha MOXF or Roland FA) and use iPad as sequencer. Combining both (hardware synth and iPad softsynths) I would have a nice small music studio. Unfortunately I dont like Cubasis workflow too much.
If you know any Daw that offers this feature let me know, please.
Thank You,
Piotr

Midibridge, MidiFlow, Midimux recognize and connect incoming and outcoming messages & are universal. Also take a look at FreEwi (for BM2
To expand on @crzycrs - you can get around the DAW linitations of only one output port by using MidiBridge or MidiFlow to break out different MIDI channels and send them to specific interfaces and remap to their channels. Limit of 16 outs from the sequencer though. But if you need more than 16 then it's CU=ubasis or slaving another sequencer. Which has its own problems.
Not really a Daw. But for an iPad sequencer I like Genome at the moment.
I'm not sure about 4Pockets apps...... I think Meteor has Midi Sync Clock out, but I don't think it's been updated for about a year?
Or N Track Studio Pro?
MultitrackStudio can send midi and clock out to external hardware and ipad synths at the same time. Great app.
Wait for auria Pro?
Thanks for advices,
I think I will stick to BeatMaker for a while as a new app is coming soon - "Modstep" which will offer step sequencer and piano roll (multiple midi outs as well). Also I will try Multitrackstudio.
Thanks!
Been wondering about that Modstep- I can recommend MTS and Genome as above, separately and together
Rim confirmed that in Auria Pro you will be able to select both MIDI port and channel. I don't own Cubasis or MTS and I was looking for the same solution as you. I wound up using Genome or BM2+MIDIFlow.
