Harsh realization: does upgrading to a new iPad air 2 mean leaving all my alchemy iaps behind?
I know those presets are not saved as part of the iTunes backup, and, I can't get at the directory in either iPad with iFunbox mac.
Are they basically gone when I restore my backup on the new iPad?
Comments
They aren't backed up, but I'm pretty sure you can still download them.
@johnfromberkeley
I did the same and as long as you own them you can restore previous purchases and download them again no problem.
I was able to restore my Alchemy purchases last June, but it would be worth double checking if this is still possible with iOS9.
All good. IAP server lives.
Outbreath.
I just did it... I just moved from a 32GB Air1 to a 128GB Air 2 - woohoo...
Working fine for downloading all the packs i've previously purchased. You need to hit 'restore purchases' button at the bottom first.
Looks like you can't now purchase any more packs though. You could in the summer when they first bought Alchemy back online, cos I picked up the 'Water' pack - but now it says the store does not recognise the item.
Oh well, I have most of them.
Didn't realise that, the window must have been pretty short because it wasn't possible last May when I tried. It saved me some money I guess
It was weird... it didn't let me on some devices I seem to remember, and I had to try and few times - but I certainly managed it because I now have the Water pack and I didn't before...
If you had the PC version of Alchemy, is it possible to transfer the PC Sound pack to the iPad version?
This is a question i'd like to know the answer to as well. Although please replace the word 'PC" with 'Mac'...
Someone told me that if you drop the presents in the documents folder in iTunes and sync, alchemy will know what to do. But I'm not sure about that. You can easily test it.
Yes. You can with Mac
