Recommendations: X/Y MIDI Pad(s)?
Looking for MIDI x/y pad(s) to be used with IOS device only. Extra knobs, sliders, or controls on the X/Y MIDI pad device would also be welcome.
Thanks for all of your ideas.
Looking to spend $100-$200.
Thanks for taking time to respond.

Korg Kaoss Pad (mine is a KP2) sends midi out from its xy pad
You use it as MIDI with IPad?
I plays nice with it?
What apps have you used it with?
How many settings can I program?
X
Y
Anything else?
And that also comes with a bunch of sounds, correct?
You would need a 5pin midi interface to get midi data into iPad. X and Y are both programmable as separate midi CC's. Built in sounds cannot be edited, but the effects are ok. I have my TR909 running through it for delay and reverb
Cool.
I appreciate feedback.
I am actually looking at Electribe with X/Y pad as an option or just straight MIDI X/Y set up.
Just wanted to get some of the "locals" opinions.
Korg padKONTROL.
This. You can find them really cheap second hand, and you can program in heaps of templates for a bunch of different apps
Is the pad on the padKontrol much better than the pad on the NanoPad2?
Just pads but KMI Quneo.
@RustiK why don't you buy a used iPad 1st generation instead with a cheap 5$ 30pin cck? No real pads but there are some cool midi apps like midi designer,
KORG pad is what I keep coming back to.
Looks ideal to team up with MIDI keyboard and hardware.
I appreciate all the other recommendations.
I guess that is an option but I am thinking about dual usage with PC and with in addition to other hardware.

I don't have this one but I always wanted it. Somehow.
Is there an app that has an x y pad that can do midi to other apps?
TC-Data...
Korg has dropped the price of its Taktile series. The Taktile is now $99.00. They have an X/Y Pad plus drum pads, faders and buttons. Plus, is a keyboard. It has both USB midi and 5-pin midi out.
I also have the Korg padKONTROL, and the pads are slightly more sensitive than the nanoPad; but it needs its own AC power supply.

I would say just a little, but as someone suggested an iPad one with midi designer pro would be probably best. You can make the entire screen an XY or 2 or 4. Way more accurate control. Add a iconnect4+ to link them and then you can charge both at the same time as well as send the midi to pc/mac
Korg nanoPAD2
Ok thank u
Animoog IAP for MIDI control.
How exactly do you suggest that animoog controls another app as an x y pad when that pad screen is exclusively for controlling the timbres?
MidiMe - 4 xy pads. Works on iPhone. Cheap. Also does automation.
Use this with midi over blue tooth and the total cost for the solution is a couple of dollars or something
.
MIDIPads
@RustiK,
I know this is an old thread but what did you think about LK's XY Pad?
Vestax pad one.
Good question. Been intrigued by this app in general but it sounds like it’s only useful with IAPs. Still, it might be good value for the price, if it works as well as advertised with Ableton Live.
