Sugarbytes Audiobus Updates - thanks!
Weird! A couple days ago I thought I would try yet again to get Effectrix working with Egoist in Audiobus syncing/recording in Cubasis. My efforts crashed and burned yet again as was the case almost a year ago... Anyway... low and behold yesterday Effectrix gets an update and it gloriously works now! perfect timing 8)

@AudioGus Thanks for noting this. I deleted Effectrix ages ago because of Non-Compliance with The Goodyear Standard (I couldn't make it work). Will try again now...
yep, @AudioGus your post plus the update also inspired me to play some more with Effectrix. Such a nicely designed and wonderfully weird app, yet I have no idea yet what to do with it
Audioshare-friendly to boot. [kicks the shoddy cardboard cross marking where AudioCopy used to be installed]
Having 'upgraded' my mini to 9.1 I figured I would try out the audiobus Egoist -> Effectrix -> Cubasis chain and it is 100% dead in the water for me. Glad I did not update my Air. :-/
Effectrix, WOW and to some degree Turnado were all working fine for myself for awhile. Now they all glitch at startup randomly. There is a loud buzz and they then make no sound. This happens intermittently. Once working they all work fine.
Funny thing is I've had this happen with Thor ever since purchase and all through iOS 8 and 9 so far.
All apps have been deleted and reinstalled many times. This happens only with these apps and never with any others. I have also never had it happen with the Auria versions.
I remember when I first got my iPad, reading about something similar. Some thought it was a intermittent hardware fault with early iPad Air 2s and that it does not happen with all iPads.
The mystery of iPads. I was only saying early, that I have had less problems with iOS 9, but I should learn to keep my gob shut lol
Fruitbat1919, no reflection on yourself but I hear people often saying they deleted all these apps and reinstalled then and I wonder whether that is some kind of fools errand, busy work if you like.
I got persuaded to reinstall a couple of apps because AudioBus wasn't working on the 6S, turned out it was because I didn't have headphones plugged in and there is a hardware/firmware issue that causes this in the latest iPhones. Nothing to do with apps.
My point is, I find a quick restart of the iPad usually sorts out any issues on first installing an app, other than that I get very few problems. OK if someone enjoys that tinkering around but I find it gets in the way of creating new stuff.
Yep understand what your saying and mostly I find the same. This fault is different and as I said, I've come across it before with Thor.
Out of the last 10 openings of WOW, all with fresh restarts, the app has lost sound on opening 6 times.
Out of the last 10 openings of Effectrix, all with fresh restarts, the app has lost sound 10 times. The app will only get sound after closing and reopening multiple times in a row.
Thor has worked after reloading ( I gave up on it after awhile, only downloading again after going to 9.1) for the last 16 openings, but only using my own presets. Thought it might be some faulty presets. Last opening....buzz....loss of sound.
I've only ever had this problem with Thor, until the last updates for WOW, Effectrix and Turn.
I hear ya Fruitbat1919, and it sucks when there is some intermittent issue that breaks workflow.
After having toyed around computers since the time of the Sinclair ZX81 I have got to the point where I stopped doing most kinds of what I call sys admin tasks, on any platform. Just don't have time for that mucking about and would rather be doing stuff I enjoy. If something doesn't work after a few attempts, it probably isn't worth wasting time on and I either find another way or go do something else.
More specifically to your issue, is that through AudioBus or standalone, that these apps are losing sound?
I also have this happening from time to time. Audiobus setup with Noatikl, Cyclop, iFretless Bass, Turnado and Sector (started up in this chronology). Sometimes, when I start Turnado, there's a sharp buzz, and all sound goes away. Ejecting Turnado (and/or Cyclop) and re-inserting (not quitting) it solves the problem. The same happening when starting Cyclop sometimes, with same way of solving... . It always works then, so I'm fine, but there's definitely something weird going on... . (-all of this with ios 8and 9, on Air and Air2).
well-
I've got an Air2, not a early one, and have suffered a lot of strange app behaviour - but it seems to have settled down a bit now. I don't think it's a hardware fault, but the hardware/iOS/app chain does seem to be more sensitive to issues than my ipad2 was.
Will be interesting to see if iPad mini 4 users have the same problems. I've not heard of any older iPad owners having this problem.
Ever since iOS 8, there's been the problem of losing sound and/or getting a harsh stuck sound in Audiobus. Ejecting and adding the app back into the Audiobus chain seems to work most of the time. My perception is that this problem has gotten better and was quite horrible for the first couple of iOS 8 updates.
