iMini not showing up in AB on 9.X
Anyone else seeing this? Is it another AB registry issue perhaps? Or do Retronyms need to fix something (too?) ?
Comments
@MusicInclusive Not here either...
Not showing up on my iPad either, it will probably take Months for a fix to show up.
No problems in IOS 8.4.1...
Now fixed in an AB update today - Thanks @Sebastian & team.
Mh, it does show up, but does not make any sound with most effects apps, for example no luck with mobile convolution reverb, flux:fx, audioreverb. imini not making any sound when these are in fx input. on the other hand, aufx: apps are working fine.
ok, just a bit of more trouble shooting -- it is not only imini but other apps as well, like iprophet for example. when used with some effects, no sound at all, with other (more recently updated), they do work. apparently, either the instrument, or the app need a newer AB sdk, otherwise no sound at all?
@nick - Depends on the app. I've tried Flux:FX and it isn't working, nor Audioreverb, directly, but AUFX:* FX are directly, as is Apefilter for example.
What's interesting is that if I also , say, start Animoog in the input slot, as in the pic below, then things get "fixed" and I can hear iMini as well as Animoog.
@MusicInclusive
that is an interesting find and could be used as workaround in some situations
I wonder what's the least resource demanding app that can perform that function
Good to know.
I got FLUX:FX to work with iMini. Took awhile but it seems to need
Launch AB
Load iMini in input
Load Flux in fx
From the AB panel in iMini turn off Flux
Unload an reload flux
From iMini turn flux back on
Go to Flux and change to a different preset
Worked for me. Should be streamlinable
IOS 9.1, Air 1
Haha, I love the simplicity of iOS music making
Wait - wait - !!!! That only works on Monday's where there's an R in the month - right? ;-)
Gotta hold your tongue just right.
iProphet still gives me some problems when I have several apps open. For instance, I open iProphet in one routing, and then make a new routing for DrumJam. DrumJam continues to work and play until I go back into iProphet, at which point DrumJam just outputs that messed up buzz. I don't have iMini but iSEM doesn't seem to have this problem, although it also seems iSEM has more recent updates while iProphet still has unresolved issues since the last update.
1) Is flux:fx always broken or just with iMini?
2) @reverberator: You're running into an IAA bug. Can you reliably reproduce it or is it just happening sometimes?
@Sebastian that same IAA buzzing thing will happen on occasion with other apps like the Vogel CMI and using multi-routing, but usually just going back into each app gets rid of that issue. With iProphet it seems to happen every time. I'll try and reproduce it now and detail exactly what's happening.
Using Audiobus 2.1.20, iOS 9.1, iPad Mini 2, iProphet 1.3
Also, DrumJam 1.3.2
Scenario: Launch AB, then Launch DrumJam from input slot and hit play, then Launch iProphet from input slot in same routing --> buzzing starts. iProphet produces sound as it should, I can navigate through DrumJam, but it keeps buzzing. If I eject DrumJam and then open it in an input slot (without restarting the app itself) it works fine.
If I put DrumJam in an input in its own routing, and then iProphet in a separate routing, I get the buzzing from DrumJam every time I enter iProphet. If I eject DrumJam and then put it back in, it works, but goes back to buzzing if I go to iProphet.
@Sebastian Any other scenarios that would be helpful (other apps, configs, sequences of opening and shutting)?
EDIT: I did exactly the same as above but with FunkBox instead of DrumJam, and the results were exactly the same.
The Flux:FX issue seems to be unique to iMini. Tested with Sunrizer.
iProphet has the same problem with flux fx
So the Flux:Fx issue is unique to Retronyms
That's actually what I'm wondering. Maybe Retronyms are doing something consistently with their audio engine that triggers this.
@nick: Have you already updated to iOS 9.1? I still have some hope that the IAA buzz bug is going to be resolved by Apple'S core audio team soon-ish.
Retronyms have never been known to be Audiobus friendly :x It's funny to show up in this forum to ask what people what they want and then to neglect the single most requested feature. If you care about the consumers, prove it.
yes, this is on 9.1
