  • Thank you, thank you, thank you

  • Not a synth or drum machine, but a great sound mangler - FieldScaper

  • Soundscaper, Fieldscaper, Elastic Drums and Patterning all excellent stuff.

  • @enc prolly also worth going through

    Brilliant ! Thanks guys

Just spent last half hour going through Synthmaster sound bites on soundcloud.
Could have done without u the cheesy "jazz funk " demos but I guess that goes to show what a versatile app if is. Deffo gonna pick it up :-)

  • Visit the Soundtestroom site and troll the archives by date. They do a video for most interesting apps that come out.

  • Yeah +1 for the SoundTestRoom. The vids are just great. Not as boring as many how to vids and often more in depth than many review vids. The STR guys do us a real service and they make me laugh often.

  • Synthmaster's got no soul. Don't get the love. But not here to argue, so

AnalogKit is the best 'synth' app in the last few months. It's totally modular and there are lots of projects online accessible from within the app's sharing cloud. The developers are very active with it.

Patterning is the only sample-based drum machine I use anymore, desktop included.

Outside of synth/drums, I think FugueMachine and Fieldscaper are the other two most interesting releases in the past 3 months or so.

  • Those pesky sountestroom kids make me laugh too....often, especially that Hakob Jaq chappie

Also, keep an eye on @thesoundtestroom's regular app sale updates, usually posted with links here in the forum, to get in on the latest deals and help support their site. As to deciding which apps to buy, from the Unofficial Guide to Doug's app rating system:

Brilliant = A well made app - if you're into that sort of thing (say modular synthesis) go get it

Cool Beans = A fun app - even if you're not into that sort of thing (say modular synthesis) go get it

Luvly Jubbly = The pinnacle of AppJoy®, you must pause the video immediately and obtain spousal permission as needed - even agree to finish the dreaded to-do list - whatever emergency measures necessary to procure funds and download the app straight away ... After download, resume video so you can learn how to use it properly (unless it's a modular synth, in which case, just fire it up and pray for presets ;)

  • Yes, that is the correct rating system, you can ignore awesome, mega and fantastic

  • Lol @eustressor

Way better than silly scores. I still think Doug should wear a cowboy hat when an app gives instant yeehaw appeal.
