I am disappointed though that they killed Module's beautifull splash screen and exchanged it for an ad for their keyboard. It was one of my favorite splash screens on iOS ...
maybe I'll go back to the last version

Perhaps the marketing department from IK was brought in to consult?

  • Here is me demo for the new Organ, I'm really liking the Prog Rock Organ patch in this

  • I did hold back the buying finger last night in the hope that you would give it a quick run for its money (before I spent mine :), so thanks for this Sir Doug. Hard to believe I need more organs, but we'll see/hear....

Hi guys, I found a new way to play Gadget!

By using Musix Pro with ipad Air 2 split screen, you can have a new way to record your note with this midi keyboard device. it is a better way for someone who has only one device. Of course, any split screen midi sequencer can do the trick! I hope more developers support split screen view. it is easier to make more fun! see attached photo!

  • Thanks for doing this Doug, but even as a bit of an organ freak, this doesn't seem to add that much to the organs already available. I'd have been happier if it provided a set of drawbars so you could mix your own, and change them on the fly.

  • Agreed. One of those very rare 'Nah, don't think I'll bother...' moments.

haha, yes that must be it! Well, first I thought I'll need to accept the new splash screen or lose all my set list. Then I realized THE UPDATE ALREADY WIPED MY SETLIST. So now, happily going back to the previous version.

    But Jon Lord!

  • Boring boring boring. Cmon Korg! Is this all you got. I'll pass.

I'm sure KORG is reading this..

Come on KORG, Stop! MESSING around, and give us what you know we need, want and what you promised/teased us with!

  • I'm mildly interested in the iPhone versions because my 6s has 4 times the memory space and is significantly faster than my old iPad2.

But the free LE version is still 1.18 GB!! I'm not clear what the limitations of the lite version are (I do have a nanoKey, which they promise will "expand" its functionality, haha).

For free, I'll probably test it out, but it's more about the amount of space versus actual usage than it is an issue with what it costs.

Specifications for all versions is on this webpage:

  • I downloaded Module LE for iPhone. As best I can tell, you get the Grand Piano only, but access to all the effects and internal functionality. (If I hook up my KORG MIDI controller, I apparently get access to 5 instruments for free).

Also, as best I could discern, Module LE does not work with AudioBus. Or at least it did not appear as an AudioBus instrument. So, yeah, it's basically a demo.

  • I'm waiting for ielectribe gadget.

  • After hearing Doug's demo on headphones I'm sold. It' sounds like what I've heard on records. I like how they named some of the emulations after famous songs.

  • I love it! As I produce more so on my iPhone 6 than my iPad 3, I was hesitant on purchasing Module on the iPad. I'm stoked for the iPhone version and it sounds amazing! Plugging it into my computer via Studiomux into my DAW, Renoise provides me with amazing piano sounds to use on a serious level.

  • I've always thought of an organ as being kind of like a boring synth.....until you get it in a room, any room (church, symphony hall, warehouse, etc.), then it becomes anything but boring. I think there are now too many organ modules because when you consider the ambient effects capabilities already present there's a ton of overlap.

  • I don't make gospel music so I'll pass...

Yes, 100% yes. If nano studio can work well on iPhone then no reason gadget can't. Even if it was another purchase I would make that one. Gadget is just flat out fun to use.

  • Just purchased it........ Ummmmm, a bit nice....... But when compared to Galileo Organ, Korg should of put a bit more into the app, sounds.

  • Actually, I've met a few different Hammond organ enthusiasts 'round here who will tell you the free organ sounds in Garageband are some of the best on iOS. I think it sounds very nice myself, although I have no idea what to do with the drawbars, so I just pull and push them at random. These new Korg organs sound very nice as well. So does Galileo. So does the "Purple" patch in Magellan. And so do a handful of Emerson patches in Synthmaster, I've recently learned.

If you dig the sound of a B3 at full throttle, why want for choice? I'll even offer more reasons than Jon Lord ... Rick Wakeman and that fellow from Uriah Heep :)

  • As most are saying, there are plenty of other options for these sounds. BUT This is the only option that lets you use these sounds fully integrated within Gadget.

As a sound module, I think Galileo is a far better and more satisfying option

  • GarageBand has wicked sounds. It's a shame that Apple will not change there policy so we can use there app as a sound source in Audio Bus, or, IAA?

  • edited November 2015

Mixed feeling from users around the globe about this one.

    Hmmm.. What's next I wonder...

Added: By "this one" I mean Premier..

I've had success extracting audio from Garageband. Probably the easiest method is to do a mixdown to .AIF with the track you want to pull soloed (say a midified organ sound), open in Dropbox/Audioshare, and from there to wherever you want. It's a bit workaroundy, but not too bad, 'cause once it's in Audioshare, you can do all the trippy stuff to that track you'd like to be able to do straight from Garageband :)

  • Thanks for the tip. I was thinking,(the expensive way). If you had 2 iPads. Record audio into 1 via,for example iRig Pro straight into the other iPad DAW. Sometimes I do that on my PC. So I use my iPad as a sound generator.
