High CPU load on ipad air ios 9.1

I recently discovered that the cpu load on my ipad air is much higher than when i was using ios 8. For example, on ios 8 playing a few audio tracks on MTS studio (Bremmers audio Design) would only result in 5-10 % cpu use, whereas on ios 9.1 I'm noticing a cpu load of 20-30 %. Also whereas Memory cleaning apps on ios 8 would let me clean my memory to about 45-50%, on ios 9 I can't seem to go lower than about 75-80 %. I notice that audio dropouts and stuttering occur much fastr than on ios 8. Can anyone please tell me if there is a way to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

  • Yeah I said much the same thing a few weeks ago, I found iOS9 more demanding on RAM, I don't know enough to say for certain but I doubt there is much that can be done unless Apple optimises the OS in an update. I have not read of others with the same problem and so maybe it can be sorted easily.

Are there any real world advantages yo ios9 I'm still on ios8

  • Even on my iPad Air 2 with iOS 9 I get distortion using iGrand and Fugue Machine as inputs and Cubasis as Output in Audiobus. Nothing else running.

  • I'm staying put at 8.2 then.

  • Just recorded iGrand, Sampletank and iMachine through AudioBus into Cubasis. iOS 9.1 no issues at all. I also had quite a few apps open in the background and no tracks frozen.

  • iPad Air 1-very noticeable lag with ios9. Went back to 8.
Bought an air 2 which came with 8.3. it will never see ios9.
I see no benefits of 9. Why fix what's not broken? Obscilescence at its best example me thinks!

  • ..unless you want the new AU capability that is just starting to trickle in..... :-/

  • And the split screen, which is getting steady app support.

  • AU does however look awesome.
Split screen has no use for me.

  • Split screen will make quick adjustments to apps well....quicker. I'm typing this while having different drummer open and running in another window.

Now I've switched to Muckraker. If I put these two apps in AudioBus, I can alter the settings at the same time.
