My First Impressions With iOS 9 And Some Of Its Features

Well I finally plucked up enough courage to update to iOS 9, and so far all seem to be OK, in fact a lot less painless than iOS 8 was at the beginning http://thesoundtestroom.com/my-first-go-with-ios-9-and-some-of-its-features/

    Hey Doug,

You can find any app you want much more quickly by just swiping down from the center of the home screen to bring up the Spotlight search. Once that pops up so will the keyboard and then all you have to do is type the first few letters of any app and it should show up for you to tap on and launch. For example, you probably only need to type "muc" to bring Muckracker up. Ultimately once it gets to know you your most used apps should pop up in the list by just typing the first letter of the app you want. I find this saves a lot of time searching homescreens and folders for the apps I want.

You also can access a more detailed version of Spotlight by swiping left to right on your homescreens until you can't anymore.

I don't use Facetime but you can launch PIP (Picture in Picture) in any app that supports it by clicking on the little PIP icon once inside the video player. It's usually somewhere near the full screen button in the video player.

The official YouTube app does not support PIP yet but this free third-party one does and I have found it very useful.

Any video you'll come across within the Safari web browser will also have the PIP button in the video player. Being able to watch videos while doing something else on the iPad has already been really useful to me and I use it a lot.

    Keep up the great work!
