Setting Up Cubasis With MidiBand & Roland SC...

Hey friends, i'm creating a template in Cubasis with 16 midi channels to use for playing with Midiband. Now, when I set up the midi channels, I can manually set up what instrument plays in each. But how do I set up Cubasis to AUTO setup itself when I play an external midi file, for example coming from Midiband?

I know this works because currently when I use Roland Sound Canvas when I load up my midifile in Midiband, Soundcanvass Auto setsup all the instruments. So in simpler midi terms, how do I make Cubasis accept Midi Program Change automatically?
Thanks in advance

  • I just read the manual and it says that the built in synth can't receive Program Change commands. Bummer cause I really like the sounds of some of the instruments in Cubasis.
So what I did was to setup two midi tracks to handle the Drums and Bass wow!!! What a difference! The new drums from the minisampler are awesome!

And all the other midi instruments are handled by Roland Sound canvas going to an audio channel in Cubasis.

I think this setup really rocks for using Midiband , Sound canvas and Cubasis as a one man band setup. Sounds huge with effects from Cubasis.
I gotta really make some time to mean to do a video for those interested.

  • You started working on that video yet? Lol

  • Lol!
Been tweaking the heck out of midiband and right now I'm trying it out by having SC as inter app audio.
Working pretty good. The effects in Cubasis make a huge difference in the sound. I have a really good sounding rock style I'm tweaking. Gotta say haven't had this much fun since the days of my Arranger Synth I sold a while back.

  • Yeah, Cubasis has some great sounding drum kits now.

Here is the Rock Style demo i worked on. I had to do a raw mixdown to audioshare cause when I mixed down to cubasis, it played back at 1/2 the speed. This never happened before. So I did the mixdown instead to audioshare. All sounds are Cubasis, Roland SC and Midiband doing all the instrumentations. No overdubs all recorded in a single pass in real time selecting sections and doing melody all on my Axion Mini Air 32 keys controller.
