Flat top for pickin' n' grinin'

    Electric Bass

  • I’ve got an SG collecting dust, an Electromatic Corvette that I play mostly, and a few various acoustics. I’m with Flo. I’ve got a guitar callable of doing everything, if not more, than meets my needs. I need to master it. Just my preference. I have friends who play several guitars regularly. When it comes to music, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We all gotta find our place in the current.

  • Had my eye on a Dobro lately. Forgot the lap steel but I never play it. Can't afford to go nuts with various fretboard and pickup combinations. You really can't have too many guitars.

  • Thrift store acoustic for family time in the living room (mostly), 'merican fender jaguar for mbv wannabe wankery in the basement.

  • I've got five electrics and one acoustic/electric guitar. My main guitar is my old Epiphone Les Paul, which I just love. I've got a Mexican Strat, which is the only one with a whammy bar. I've got a cheapo 7-string, and a cheap BC Rich Warlock, which I keep tuned down to C#. The other is an Epiphone Demon V, which I picked up on a whim because I thought it looked cool.

So, I can (somewhat reasonably) justify the existence of all of them, but I could realistically downsize if needed. Thankfully the missus is understanding of my excess.

  • Guitars GAS is just a memory....now it drifted to Synth GAS...I can help, although, I m lucky to have little space at home.

  • I have a birdsong short scale bass, an old short scale p bass copy that I bought for my brother 17 years ago, and a kala 5 string u bass , which is my main bass for gigs to help the arthritis. Gas strikes when gigs are slow, but I have everything I need and keep reminding myself of that!

    Upright bass

    Music Man fretless electric

    Modified Yamaha Tele electric guitar

    Samick archtop

    Godin nylon string guitar

    Chapman Stick

    Taylor GS Mini

    Goldtone banjo

    Inexpensive Weissenborn-type guitar

Then, there are some wind and percussion instruments....

  • A Gibson Les Paul that I wanted for 20 years before finally acquiring it, and an Epiphone J200 copy as my acoustic. I'd love to get a Gibson J200, but that would never meet the wife approval factor, and to be honest I can't afford it. Maybe one day.

2 guitars is enough for me though.

  • Moar is always Moar and Mo Betta...
