Any apps that work with relative notes like this...

  • StepPolyArp

  • Mmmm....I have that, but don't recall it having that feature. Time to dig it back out. Thanks @Zetagy.

  • look at the popup for a step, it can specify notes 1-7 as well as the usual next/previous/start/end stuff.
In a way, Xynthesizr, Arpeggionome, Auxy, B-Step, and Oscilab have some relativity built in too

  • Are you talking about midi-gyro control? Thumbjam does that too, but only with volume, pan, vibrato, tremolo, or pitchbend.

  • Not gyro control @Coloobar....talking about relative notes so if your first note is a C and you're in a major scale, a +3 would give you an F note.

    Thanks again @Zetagy.

  • I see. Serves me right for skimming the video.

  • There are many midi apps where you can restrict it to a scale or range. Fugue Machine lets you adjust the relative tempo, octave, pitch, and play style of the sequence you enter. You could make your own template in TB MIDI Stuff, Lemur, or MIDI Designer Pro to emulate the functionality of the Samchillian.

  • Thanks @Paul. I'll take a look at those as well.

  • Maybe Scalegen would work:

Start at the 1:58 min mark.

  • I always forget about Scalegen/Gestrument. They do make a lovely couple, and Scalegen looks promising for relativity.
