  • Don't blame me if your disappointed.......

  • blame you for what :) I've owned it since the day it came out but I deleted it a long time ago, will check later...... thanks for all of the tips folks. If it will export multiple slices at once to audio share that might just the ticket. I don't remember there being any zoom on the waveform though?

  • I don't own STROM but if it will send all slices to AS, please report back. Might be exactly the ticket for getting the sample library out of iMaschine2. :)

  • will report back, in the meantime I don't think strom has transient detection either if I'm not mistaken :( will check that too

Thanks. That'd be a bummer for most real world chopping needs but for slicing up drum machine app exports like iMaschine, that'd be fine. Place each hit on a grid with enough separation to capture the tails and slice in 16 parts. It's how I do it now (ripping samples from app A to app B) but the chopping is usually manual unless it's header to BM2, Samplr or Sector.

  • ok got strom right in front of me, it appears that even if you slice up a loop that the export of it while in slice mode will only yield the loop and not however many slices you've made. it seems to be the same result whether you do open in to audio share or whether you use copy out /export. :(

but this app is still fun albeit extremely limited, time to shoot the dev a note I guess.

  • also strom does not have transient detection.

anyway here's the devs Facebook doesn't look like he's been around much but please let him know your thoughts and wishes I really bought this app because he said he was going to put allot more stuff in it.

  • wow I didn't know that strom wasn't audiobus compatible either?

  • does the caustic editor have transient slicing?

  • @kobamoto have you ever tried loading up Traktor DJ into AudioShare, setting up a frozen loop via its transient detection, record into AudioShare, and then trim to the beat? It may not be ideal but perhaps it could do until better alternatives emerge.

  • traktor dj doesn't have transient detection, but thank you for the suggestion.

  • How about Samplr?

  • love samplr, but it doesn't have transient detection.

  • Depending on the source material, Traktor DJ has been pretty damn good in figuring out the exact downbeats of loops I've wanted. Maybe use that into Loopy and you can use the BPM from Traktor. But other than that, I'm not relying on IOS anymore for anything serious. Too many workarounds required for simple ass shit.

On related note, check out new DJ player pro which was released last week. You have to load files in via Dropbox but has Interesting way to set up loops. You can pick exact loop start and end by pushing the button whereas most dj apps only give you one button to push to set loop
