Using Soundfonts and Julie Resynth with Gestrument?

Looking to learn a bit... Just got Gesturment and on You Tube saw a demo using a 'soundfont' (I think) called "Julie Resynth" (http://lesproductionszvon.com/julie_resynth.htm) - but am a bit unclear as to how one uses such a sample. I love the sound and would like to get a copy - but it also seems the software is listed for specific apps... Could anybody give a little background on using such samples - or point to a tutorial? Soundfonts?

You can get the soundfont here.

    http://lesproductionszvon.com/for_iOS.htm

Soundfonts are imported by adding them through the iTunes filesharing or by “Open in” from an email or website from you iOS device. For iTunes file sharing – add the soundfonts to Gestrument in iTunes and sync and then they will show up the next time you open Gestrument.

  • Thanks - haven't gotten into iTunes filessharing yet, so this will be a good start.

  • Open in is MUCH simpler :)

  • @seachord, what works great is if you got a PC/mac, simply download the sound fonts on your computer and then get an app called FileBrowser, that connects to your computer via WIFI.
Then you can "open in" in any app that supports SF2 files.
I do it this way because of 16gb iPad, (no storage) and you can always ditch SFs that you don't like.

    +1

  • YES - I do have FileBrowser and am on a Win7 PC - will def give that a go. Thanks!

  • @seechord, Google " Arachno sound-font-10-sf2" really good quality and free and it is a whole bank ~148MB.

    Thanks for the link!

  • Got all the goodies you mentioned. The to extract the SF's are great as well. I also got hooked up to the PC via "FileBrowser" - haven't used it for awhile, but with all the music data I guess I'll be pushing a lot of stuff back to the PC as archival storage.

It appears you have to load SF's to specific apps - so if the same SF was placed in a number of synth's, things could get...err.. crowded!! So you would have to delete a large SF from an app to use it in another - assuming you didn't have a 128G iPad Pro... :-)
