ahhhhh !
Huh!
O I C
Sure there will be a load of app updates in the coming days/weeks. (iPad Pro n 9 n Ting..)
From @intua: There is a bug in the pattern editor in BeatMaker 2.5.7. You should refrain from updating until we provide an urgent update.
Fek ! Too late
Glad I held off..
They havnt updated in such a long time, I knew they couldn't get it right.
Their a little rusty!
Added: Anyway, hope it's a quick fix!
I updated, but no biggie as I only use it for its sounds and sampler. Never use it to make any tracks.
I used it as my main for years, from iPhone to iPad.
Been using it very lightly since January, but stil I have a lot of project within it.
Just a few little things spoil it for myself. The keyboard setup is awful and I still input my notes with onscreen keys as I struggle with physical keys now. Each time I change a sound, the keyboard position moves. This is so annoying.
Yeah that keyboard-position-move thingy is a bit of a one.
But as one of my Uncles said to me years ago " The things you get used to"
Nothing in this update that has me looking forward to. Their last update was 13 months ago.
They have now put the warning in the appstore for the issue with the pattern editor.
BM3 we are ready.
I think a read somewhere, that they are going to shrink the footprint with BM3, so that you can add sound packs if you want, but it will not be overloaded with sounds that you may or may not use.
One silent wish I have for BM2 & BM3 is that they will include support for iOS-FilePicker/iCloud Drive for import & export of files...
Wonder how far these quotes will go..
Yeah @Fruitbat1919, I guess they will be in their store. Free/demo and paid.
Added: I still have good ratings for BM2 with its quirks.
Hope they make it easier to get rid of the free files once you buy a pack and that they get the advertised price for a pack correct.
I'm creating a mountain of quotes to climb.
Yeah, unless the free files are small enough and/or very usable.
I still have good ratings for BM2 with its quirks.
BM2 in the right hands allows you to go very deep.....
@intua: BeatMaker 2.5.8 has been submitted for review! It fixes all recent issues and brings iOS9/Audiobus/64bits/iPad Pro compatibility.
You better add 'beatmaker 2 update' or there will be many cardiac arrests in different time zones before actual beatmaker 3 comes out.
^ done.
V 2.5.8 is in the store.
Hey @gsm909, did you update to 2.5.8, How's it doing?
Or anyone..
I've had a quick play with 2.5.8, but wasn't sure what the problem was in the first place, so not found anything wrong with 20mins playing with patterns in the editor. I was watching reruns of Harry Potter with the wife at the same time though....
3 or nothing!
"Harry Potter with the wife"
Havnt seen that one yet.
Cheer though, I'll update!
In a bit...
It's XXX
Triple the magic!
Not updating then?
Home from work, just downloaded, away for a wedding all weekend, unfortunately it'll be Monday before I can get any time to indulge myself
Anyone
The thing is that I don't have BM2 on my iPad at the moment. I'm not needing a DAW as my focus is squarely on live impro. I do have sentimental moments when my finger itches to redownload it again but I haven't done it yet. The 800mb of bloat doesn't help either.
I'm currently hunting for a 64Gb IPad Air 2 so I have room for when BM3 finally lands.
R, I get the "nothing" part now.
Yep, I feel there will be a lot more space needed in the coming weeks/months.
Turns out that's it's pretty much true what they said, space is the final frontier...
I always thought that Beatmaker took up close to 1GB space - but I just double checked on the itunes store and it has 546mb listed. Did this change with the latest update?
What the App Store says and what the "unzipped" app weights are not alway the same.
