Neil Young is like Canada's Lemmy. Run long, indeed
Never met a Neil Young song I did not like.
Very unique style and musician!
Damn good songwriter. Period.
70? Where does the time go? Seems like just yesterday he was in his 60's.
I would argue older brother Neil has written a few more songs, but for a school boy Angus isn't too bad.
Older brother of Malcolm and Angus — George Young’s birthday? He and Harry Vanda wrote some excellent songs, and produced a lot of other songs. Just found this one on Youtube:
Walking In The Rain — Grace Jones
A 'young' man at 70, a great songwriter indeed.
They were really good together on their TV show, the Young Ones.
This sort of thing always brightens my day. Now to go listen to some Neil Diamond Darryl.
I love Neil Diamond (seriously). He's another great songwriter named Neil
A note has been entered into your file.
You might want to add these, as I also have a soft spot for: early Elton John, Abba, Andy Williams, Dean Martin.
That's quite a range considering all the talking you do about your love of death metal. It's good to be diverse! ;-)
"Funeral for a Friend" and "S.O.S" are two examples of excellent songwriting, each in their own fashion. I remember the first time I heard "Funeral" and thinking, THIS is Elton John?
More properly, this is Elton John and his band kicking serious ass in the studio
I see what you did there Few seem to remember Darryl was "Diamond" before he was "Dimebag."
If you keep an open mind, there's all sorts of great music to listen to. Leo Slayer has this song, "You Make Me Feel Like Danzig" -- you might think you don't like disco, but that's because maybe you have not heard black metal disco.
And he'll always be Diamond Darryl (part of Diamond Darryl Hall & Oates) to me. Because I'm old.
And here's a tip as regards getting sufficiently pumped when due to play a one song set etc.

Crazy Horse...yes!
Hadn't seen that before, what a performance! (Assuming it is the one they mentioned)
Scruffy men bashing at guitars like loons and like they mean it.
