iPad records with its microphone and not through the interface.
Hi everyone,
I connected my guitar into my interface so I could record guitars through the Bias amp app and through Audiobus into Auria. Suddenly Auria didn't pick up the sound through my interface but through the iPads own mic. The same thing happened when I used the Bias app on its own. What can be the problem?
Comments
Typically that happens when your interface is not recognized by the iPad.
What is your interface?
I've both a Mobile Pre Usb and a Roland Duo-Capture Ex. I tried both and none of them worked even though they have worked without problem before.
Often the interface is not recognized when you have apps open that are controlling iOS audio but don't know how to switch to the interface.
Thanks for your answers!
I tried but I had the same problem. Maybe I need to shut down my iPad for a while.
A hard reboot might help. Apple calls it a "force restart" on this help page

Does this happen in recording apps other than Auria?
Thanks Hmtx!
Yes, it happens for every recording app I use.
I don't know how or why but it worked perfect now. Maybe it was a good idea to turn of the iPad for a couple of hours.
Hard reboots probably solve at least 75% of buggy behaviors. Always a good place to start. Sometimes it takes two or three, but sooner or later the daft little machine gets the hint and falls back in line
