    Oops, sorry guys
    I thought you were trolling.
  • Ha! Nope, not at all.

  • Bastards we may be, but trolls we're not :)
  • Yes. Plus One. Rusty, where are your difficulties with Loopy and the controller?

    Sounds like my kind of club :)
  • Hey @lala Do you own MidiBridge?
    If you do, would you mind giving it a try with Voiceover please?

    This whole IOS music making thing is so involved! :)

    @RustyPerez ;
    I don't own midi bridge. I use lemur and midibus to send midi around, I just tried those, they don't work with voice over.
    I don't send to much midi around from app to app on iOS, its not a very pleasant experience, nothing remembers nothing so you have to set it up each time ...
    What do you want to do with the midi?
    play an app with a midi keyboard?
    or send midi from one app to another or to you mac or somewhere?

  • Hi @lala, thanks for checking those.
    At this point my main reason for using something like MidiBridge or Lemur would be to receive midi messages from a foot pedal and translate or filter them and send them on to another app. For example, receive midi notes from a foot pedal, and translate in to the CC messages that Drumjam requires.

    @RustyPerez, Midiflow app has voice over. It can get pretty complex, just email the dev. on specifics.

  • Anything worthy that isn't made for the iPhone!

  • @crzycrs The issue with my foot controller and Loopy is actually just with the controller at this point. I haven't gotten far enough with it to play with loopy.At this point, I'm going to send back my SoftStep because it's just not working for me. At first I was triggering pedals even when I was lightly touching them with my feet. then when I brought down the sensitivity, some pedals became way difficult to press, and others didn't seem to become less sensitive at all. I need a pedal which will allow me to feel the pedals with my feet and figure out where I am without triggering them. I don't know, there might be a problem with it, but either way, I need a pedal which has a little more physicality to the pedals so I can find them without looking. I'm pretty much sure I'm getting a looptimus.
    The SoftStep requires the use of the config software to really take advantage of what makes it awesom, and that software doesn't play nicely with speech software. So, no biggy. The Looptimus will send out midi notes which I can then either use with midilearn features in software, or I'll use something like MidiFlow to send the messages the right way.
    The Looptimus has traditional style metal pushbuttons, but they aren't the loud clicky kind. I don't have trouble with those kinds of buttons.

    @lala, I didn't realize that my thank you message didn't get tagged with your name.
    That was definitely an internet solid.

    I have learned that MidiFlow plays nicely with Voiceover and so I'll definitely work with that. Also, @rad3d let me know that Lemur config files can be edited with a text editor, so that might be an option as well, even though Lemur itself isn't very accessible.

  • Thanks so much guys! I'll get this iPad 1 rockin yet! i will also rock the iPad mini, but the 1 just begs to live on. :)

    @RustyPerez ;
    Don't worry, I saw that coming. Thanks for the flowers. :)
    Have fun with the music. :)
  • @RustyPerez I just tested MidiBridge using voiceover. While it sort of works, the app requires you to make some visual connections that might make it a bit difficult for you. Adding in that MidiBridge has a bit of a learning curve, and I'm not sure it would be a good fit - though it's a great app.  MidiFlow is both quicker to understand and all the options I tried seemed to provide the voice info I think you'd need in accessibility mode.  But - it's important to understand how you might want to use it.

    And keep in mind that my Lemur comment about editing the text file would only be useful with the template I had discussed with you - which can do it's work in a live situation without interfacing with the screen. Any other Lemur templates wouldn't be of too much use because of the lack of accessibility options.

    I tried but it doesn't really work, I couldn't reach the settings button with VoiceOver , maybe that's because l have show buttons active? I don't know, but I can't recommend this to rusty ... if they haven't tested for the show buttons thing, (a know bug with Ui not showing up,) they didn't test for accessibility at all ...

  • Well, no biggy. If Midiflow does basically the same thing, then we're good.
  • Have a try. But trust me on the other thing, I know exactly what to look for now, thanks to you.
     it's not so easy wrapping your head around this, If you can see and you know what is going on and take everything for granted ...
