What's next in iOS world?

Logic touch? Live touch? Ultra loopy? All the Apple AUs from OS X on iOS? 3D Touch on iPads?
where are we going? :)

  • Personally, I want to see someone run an iPad Pro live looping performance in Auria Pro with multiple instances of the new Auria synth, and FX on each channel, and then I'll be happy.

other than that I don't know what is next. Loopy?!! yes, but probably later rather than next.

  • I'm thinking in a longer timeframe, like 15 months...

    LMAO....Oh!

    More seriously

From a music perspective I think it will be AU mainly, as they have deliberately made it easy to port (RAM limitations aside) from OSx AU to iOS AU.
Alongside this apps also adopting LInk - although this will be mainly limited to sequencers. Unless sample based apps can do decent realtime time-stretching then they could only act as a link slave, which goes against what link is intended to be.

iOS in general I think perhaps video editing may see the most activity what with the performance increase and screen size of Pro,, they already have music covered, they have photography covered.

Perhaps a decent version of Adobe Premiere running on Pro ?

I would buy a Pro tomorrow for this.

  • A iOS synth with the followings:

I'd like to see a full size 88 note force touch screen keyboard that can have user defined setups.

4 iPad Pros all that can run on separate keyboard zones.

All connected for Audio and Midi.

An interchangeable section with real knobs, faders, switches and led name tags.

Real wooden end cheeks are a must.

I'm wondering too how long it will take to make some knobs and faders or something... for that new connector on the pro ...
the first Bluetooth musical keyboards just came out
    interesting times :)

  • Beatmaker 3 coming soon? I think...

yes, yes, the smart connector. I sincerely hope this is what's next for iOS. Have Apple released the stats to hardware makers? I'm guessing so ...Logitech already has a keyboard.

    when is NAMM?

The korg Bluetooth Stuff looks nice and it's already everywhere in iOS and the Mac... http://www.korg.com/us/products/controllers/microkey2_air/

  • A stable and better ios pleaseee

I think you’ll find that the next advancement in iOS is smell sensitivity as an input method. Gone are the days when we used to have to actually touch the screen. Instead, complex communication at the conceptual level can efficiently be entered by odour and aroma.

  • Worked rly hard on that one

    FCP X please...

  • Already lots of keyboards that are usable? Not sure of the need for something new?

I'm wondering about AUs, how quickly companies will be to convert. Because, if everything works great on the iPad, then people will move to the iPad for the huge cost savings. So, perhaps the prices will be a lot higher than they are now.

I don't know. It just is not going to make sense for them to go to a bunch of effort to sell their stuff at a huge discount. None at all.

    huh?

kiss me deadly is my favorite film noir

tarantino picked this up in pulp fiction - the suitcase mc guffin ...

but the screaming psycho bitch is much better

its also a very nice metaphor for whats going on, chasing the big mc muffin, you can't see it, you don't know what is it, and it makes the complete plot and it can make you very happy or kill you if you get it at the end ;) lol

  • I think file management will have to be next.

Almost forgot, a USB-3 speed proprietary connector for all iOS devices based on the apparent chip in the iPad pro.

If you try to record an iOS screen using Quicktime, you can't get a native resolution video or even a 1080p one, likely because of the limitation of the current Lightening cables.

Hopefully new devices and a new cord can resolve issues like that one with a new chipset.
