OT: Free MIDI stuff for PC
I felt compelled to share this find, as I've been playing with Chordz for hours. It lets me program chords which can each be played by a single key on my keyboard, there's probably other apps that do this but it's new to me (and I'm a big ChordPolyPad fan, but sometimes I don't have the ipad handy). There's a bunch of other stuff on the site, MIDI programs similar to a lot of iOS stuff, and all free. It looks like they've all been posted or bugfixed within the last year so this isn't typical free VST abandonware.
