Rock Drum Machine

Does anyone know how to get a beat going in RDM that includes a snare rim shot like for a verse I working on that I want to build up to full snare drum. Thank you in advance.

  • @Tones4christ there is no way I'm afraid. I've asked for it before, and the answer is that maybe it will come in the future. We'll just have to wait and se.

  • Even with out it, I love this app to death. I just recorded a whole song with it. I suck at programming drums, and suck even more at trying to play the real thing. This app gives me some decent sounds to work with.

Have to say I don't find the song mode as intuitive as I might, but it's certainly a good pattern box.

I can see that. I like how I can make a pattern, and then use it in the song mode, or just pick from any of the pre made patterns. Can quick choose different sounding drums, cymbals and so on. Add a cymbal crash, a fill, Jam Intensity. For dummies like me, I dig it.

I also have patterning, drum perfect, diff. drummer, diode, dm1, and I think some others. Diode is the only other one ATM that I can use, it's pretty simple. I just don't have the time to properly learn the others yet. Gotta wait till my kids hit high school, I think? Is that when they won't want to play with me? ;)

  • I really wish the Jam intensity slider when brought down all the way to the left would cause the virtual drummer to play softer all the way down to playing the snare rim and even better would be to have automation on the slider so say you increase the slider full blast on a chorus and so on. I wonder if the developer is updating it anymore. This is my all time favorite drum app and after he added song mode, it made a huge difference. Even cooler will be if LINK will be enabled in RDM.

  • Agreed mostly. they could really phaten up this app with some lil features and stuff. jam intesity parameters would be sick like in diff drummer. Also synch amd more drum tones. still its so fun!

  • I agree. Rock Drum Machine can be so much more. I really love hoe realistic it sounds. If you can get your drum track as close to what you need, then I guess a bit of editing is all is needed. But I would really like yo hear from the developer if there is anything planned for this cool app.

  • Just heard from him yesterday. Hes looking into IAA now.

  • Gonna double check but I think I can use it as IAA already in Cubasis....

I use it IAA into Auria and Multi track DAW. Though there are no controls that show up in Rock drum to use.

  • So will having with controls create better sync options? I hope so...it's something I've really been wishing for a while . That along with slider automation would rock big time!
How do you guys use it in its current state?

  • My bad. It was the transport I asked for that he's looking into.

  • I wonder why sync is not implemented. At least start and stop. At the very least so that the drum track can sync with all my other tracks while playing midi tracks and stuff.

  • Midi-file export, and then we're talking big things!
