Mark discussions read?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but is there a way to mark all Discussions as read here on the forums? Can't seem to find a way to do this....

  • It should automatically unhighlight if you are logged in. Double check that you are logged in. Is unhighlight a word. Lol

  • Unless I manually click each one, I can't get discussions to lose the yellow "x New" alert on each one.

  • That's how it works. you have to read to remove highlight. I don't think there's a mark unread feature.

  • There may be a vanilla plugin for it. If so, yes please! My OCD forces me to open each thread even if I'm not interested just to get the highlight to go away! Sad state over here fellas.

  • If you find a vanilla plugin for it we might be able to install it.

While we're on the subject of the forum, is there any way to show the page numbers of a topic at the top of the page? On a really epic, long thread (the multi page Guitarism thread comes to mind) when you click the topic it takes you to the first page of the thread every time and to go to any other page of that post you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get the choice to click to the last page. It would be really nice not to have to do this. If the page numbers could be displayed at the top of the page it would be nice. Maybe there is already a way to do this and I'm missing something obvious, if so please tell me.

    Thanks!

  • +497 for yowza top-of-page page numbers. On iPhone there are no page numbers, only "more comments", epic posts require epic scrolling.

  • This seems to have some of the features being discussed: http://vanillaforums.org/addon/pagenavigator-plugin

I see a "Mark All Viewed" button that would save me and syrupcore from our OCD
And it seems to let you jump to the first or last posting on each discussion, which would be nice for those 'epic' threads :)

  • We have "mark all read" on the iosmars forum. It is a part of vanilla's core. By default it's off.

The pagiantion problem can be fixed by editing the mobile theme. If you need help @Sebastian , I just went through all this. :-)

  • Okay, the page numbers're added!

  • I've enabled the "mark everything as read" plugin.

  • @Sebastian - Great, thanks! Any chance of whittling down the "announcements" at the top of the page? Some are outdated and/or past their usefulness. Maybe make a single FAQ thread/space for most of them.

  • I agree with that. Way to many announcements.

  • I'll make an announcement about it

  • Good plan Michael, I look forward to the pre-announcement, of the announcement about the future announcements.

  • I'll blog about it.

  • Thanks for adding "mark everything as read"! This is saving me time and bringing me much peace and calm. Approved.

  • A "Back to Discussions" button down here after the last post would be nice as well. It appears in the box when you're logged in but not when you're just reading the forums.

  • What @rhism said. Very.

    @Fribeiro back button!
