which one would you get?

kobamoto Have both, like both, but use the sax in about a 10 to 1 ratio. As ever, depends what you're planning on and what you already do. To be honest for a lot of trumpety sounds (technical term) I use a modified version of Im1's TubaFlugel and with the recent addition of iSymphonic, I don't imagine I will be using the ifretless brass as much in the future...

haven't checked out isymphonic yet, thanks for the tip
doing some psychish, neo soulish, glitchy stuff, and something kinda like boom bap but more bap boom.
  • Well I got brass first wich is great for the Jaws theme music .... Then I finally had to get sax They both sound great and just enough differences that they justify being separate apps although I wish it was all together in one app

  • is  the sax just focused on sax and the brass more well rounded ?
  • and for anybody using the ifrettless as a controller for sample tank are sample tanks brass/horns better quality than ifrettless or worse?

Good question to which I would like to hear an answer....
  • cause I already own ifrettless bass and guitar, if I were to find an superior horn sound I'd probably be willing to try that?
  • I have access to both and will use both. Good stuff!

  • I can't say I've done A/B testing with iFretless ... but Geo has a similar midi control layout and I played the HELL out of a SampleTank sax patch one time. It just sounded great. Think I jumped over to the bs16i as well ... So SampleTank definitely has a few serviceable sax patches.

So does bs16i with the right soundfonts. So does MusicStudio with the right user-created instruments. And for a nice retro kick, gotta love the vintage horns in the M3000 ...

So what I'm saying is, I have iFretless Brass and it sounds lovely B)
  • I've used iFretless as a controller for other apps, unfortunately you lose the nice slide feature.

try bend range on value 1 monzo...
Thanks Flo - yeah tried that but it only changes it slightly. The effect I'm after is what you get with the built-in sounds - the classic fretless thing where you can slide a note up the fretboard. If I could get that to work with other synths in iFretless I'd use it as a controller all the time.
  • to complete the bundle for me it would cost $22 as opposed to $29,  that's not much of a discount for bundle completeing.
