I see...Other _init is a waveform, not a preset. Thanks!

    No worries.

    Enjoy!
  • My verdict on Poseidon,
    It's a must have!
at first I was like, this is like the Terra Synth, but then I started to dig in more, play with the effects, and use the dice on a nice patch i'd made, then, the magic happened. All Love, really lush analog sounds, and also some amazing pads when the reverb kicks in and you adjust it to taste. You get these deep, pads. Almost like having Z3TA in there somewhere, but it is really nice in its own sort of way. Made patches fast and saved them. If you want your favorite patches to show up on the top of the list, save them with numbers like 001 My fav1, and 002 My Fav2 etc etc. and you will have those at the very top of your list.

Listen to this simple clip i made into audioshare. Only RDM playing drums and Poseidon synth

Hey, check out this track on SoundCloud: HeavenlyTones4Christ Poseidon Synth+Rock DM-HT4C at USA!

I'm sharing it from the SoundCloud iOS app -- get it here, free:
  • I must say, though, that I get a lot of predictable disappearances in Poseidon. Frequently it just sits there doing nothing for a few seconds, then disappears. It’s still there in the list of open apps when I double click the button, but almost each time I use it I get this disappearing act sooner or later.
  • Bumped for updates on people's experiences or tricks they have learned on this.

I want to dig it, just not........................

    I don't have this, I don't have Nave....yet

Are we saying they are very comparable now in sound? Can someone go through the biggest differences, unique qualities of each?
I'd like to purchase one of them, but I must choose correctly.

Subjective, but Pos has an easier interface for creating new sounds compared to Nave.

I really would not want to do without either, but I do think Pos is an easier place to start.

They both can make great sounds and would probably give many years of use where you could still create new sounds.

  • In the end, it's a toast thing. I would suggest you should/could have both, they're both big boy iOS synths with a lot of depth if that's what you want. Is that what you want? Some folks like to start at the Init and others want to compare preset banks.

In the artificial voting of it all, and if I could only have one, I'd choose Nave, but then I'd also start saving up my pennies right away...

  • I like Poseidon more.

Just like Pokemon gotta get em all! As @JohnnyGoodyear says start with Nave, (if you have the $20). Start with Posiedon if you've only got $10.
Naves got two waves to play with, and tons of third party patches available including some amazingness by our people on the forum. Posiedon has the just the single wave, but more detail to the programming, and filters no one else has. Rock/Paper/Scissors type thing. Start with the rock, or the scissors, but you'll want the others if you're like me...
Either way you're going to dig the sounds

Yup I'll probably end up with both. Think I'll start with nave as I've been watching and waiting for that one to go on sale long enough I'm counting on a Christmas sale to pick up a few apps. Last sale was last Christmas I believe

  • I'm sticking with Nave since I didn't care much for the other apps from this dev that I never use.

  • I like Nave but its just not as warm but it's still an amazing synth! Just way to difficult for me I guess.
Poseidon I created patches after patches amazing sounds!

  • Since version 1.1, I'd say it is truly awesome. Import your own waves etc.

  • OMG Virsyn import my own samples straight from AudioShare. Oh yummy

  • I'm interested in buying Poseidon synth and want to know how it performs using ios10. Im reading different stories and don't wanna waste another 20 euro for nothing.

Is Poseidon synth working fine using iOS 10 ?

    Thanks.

  • This one got lost in the shuffle somehow (which at 20 euros or whatever is more of an indictment of me than it). Works fine for me on the latest iOS and, having just spent a little time testing it, am a) liking it and b) somewhat ashamed that I have so much cake on the table that I forget about the eating etc.

    Great to hear it's working.
Seems like this synth is a bit different compared with the other traditional synths.
I totally missed the release of this synth when it was released.
Thanks a lot for tasting this cake and letting me know. :)

  • Pos works well for me as a stand alone. The only issues I've encountered in host is that the preset selection slows to a crawl.

I use it for very digital textures:

I'm sure it can do all sorts of sound. I just find it really shines with digital twinkly stuff :p

  • Holy shit, has it really been over a year since this was released?! Gotta admit I never found the time to dig into it (while I kept on buying new stuff, of course).

    Twinkly stuff

  • @Fruitbat1919 I like #5 and #6 especially. It's really smooth between the very different timbres.

  • Purchased Poseidon yesterday and its....... brilliant. This thing is futuristic and unique compared with all the traditional synths. Imported some flute samples and was impressed with the result after analyzing. Tons of presets and the randomize and sample import also works great. Very nice unique synth.
