And another one I don't own (and need): Guitarism. The dev had eben very responsive (not lately but for a very long time).
On the other hand I have very much from Korg (Electribes, KP, Gadget, iElectribe, iMS-20, iM1, iKaosilator) and don't feel very well in terms of beeing informed and respected as a customer.

Korg are sort of bizarre, I don't understand why their apps just appear out of nowhere with no build-up. It would be nice to get the sense that there were actual human beings in there somewhere.
I kind of like the way Korg does business no endless hype just release Apps when they are ready.
  • So many nice devs:
    Luis Martinez-Funk Drummer
    Mr. Audioshare
    Rim-Auria
    Mr. Audiobus
    Adam-firo
And many others that escape my mind.

Double salute to you all for all your great dev work!!!!

    Cheers

The Audiobus Duuuuudes, who in addition to developing the most game-changing app in the music world, also get credit for developing the most important, news making, informative and helpful forum in the IOS world. Both in terms of content, and for being famously known for intelligent insightful posters who consistently demonstrate courtesy and good will towards each other. With very few exceptions. That inclusive tone prevalent here over the many years has served to define an example of how cool our IOS music generation has become, compared to other music environments.

  • Rhism! Guitarism is awesome!!!
  • Indeed. I miss having @Rhism around.
  • I kind of like the way Korg does business no endless hype just release Apps when they are ready.

I require a certain amount of hype to fill certain voids in my existence.
  • Charity starts at home: Thank you, Michael & Sebastian!

    Mr. Alonso (Samplr)

    Mr. Jacek (Impaktor)

    Mr. Tyson (Loopy)

  • Klevgrand team
    Audioshare's Kymatica / Jonatan Liljedahl
    Audiobus' Sebastian Dittmann
    SeekBeats Rugoso / Rodrigo Yáñez
    Caustic's Rej
Sunvox / Pixitracker / Etc Dev Alexander Zolotov
    SugarBytes team
    Elastic Drums team
    TriqTraq Devs
    BeatHawk crew
    FingerBeat Dev
    Sir Sampleton Dev
    SidTracker 64 Devs
    Image-Line team*
    Mastering / Etc Igor Vasiliev**

These make up the top of mind list.
Some of these developers have been ultra responsive, some have been elusive, some have reached out in kindness for Beta'ing but All of these developer's apps have been the backbone of what makes iOS music making such potent fun here.

*regardless of being radically out of fashion FL Mobile has been a recent re-favorite and feels like something of a "misunderstood retro step-based idea" that's been unattended by both the developers and users in general.  Like many others I'm eager for FL Mobile 3 but in the meantime am putting a Lot of material together in FL Mobile (non-HD).

**Igor's Mastering app was the first thing that made me rethink the iPad and iOS potential in general: I mastered a finished track stereo file to the best of my abilities both within my Mac rig then within Igor's app: The results were nearly a tie and I had a lot less experience with Igor's app than said (expensive) Mac chain at the time.
  • All the devs at Steinberg, Waldorf, and Moog.... NOT!
  • Yuri-Xynthesizr

  • Gotta give it to Korg as well, especially for the mighty gadget and as a corporation for giving us some very cool and affordable toys.

Hehehe!!!  ^^...just kidding about Retronyms!! They worship the almighty dollar and intentionally cripple their apps!!
Over the last few months I have found the support from Retronyms to be greatly improved from my older experiences.  When i have reported problems I get quick responses regarding either fixes in the pipeline, or requests for more information to help with reproducing issues, and then follow up messages to tell me when updates are going to be available.

So a shout out to Eric at Retronyms from me !!

Others that have been very helpful and always provide a good service are the guys at Steinberg (Lars, Ricardo) and Novation (although they remain individually nameless), very good work and great support from those guys.

In terms of pure development (and not already mentioned)  Yonac and Korg.

A last mention goes to Christien Blomert who is doing some great work,  but that is for another day  :)
  • I am a great admirer of Patrick at Secret base design (lots of Apps) he's a very decent and responsive bloke with a great sense of humour. "One louder"
  • Lots of great work being done in the iOS music world.  I imagine most developers in the music software area are in it because they are enthusiasts, and love music and musicians.  It's especially great when the people on the other side of the 1's and 0's take a hands on approach with the people using their programs, by checking in on their users and taking feedback on what's working and what isn't, since it takes a lot of patience to try to accommodate different musical workflows, other than your own.

Big thanks to Matt and Kyle from AnalogKit, both of them have been active fixing bugs I told them about, and answering questions on their reddit page. also above and beyond with some help debugging a couple of my more ambitious projects on their online consortium.

Edward, one of the looptree developers, was really cool when I got in touch about midi sync, and Art Kerns, being here to get feedback on Midisteps.
  • A bit OT but how about a special price for sir Doug ?
  • Don't forget the Caustic dude!

And I agree totally with the list ^

A bit OT but how about a special price for sir Doug ?

He's pretty cheap start to with, hardly ever goes on sale (worth every penny of course  )...
  • I still have hope.
    What happened?
